I voted no, but the reason given in the poll was more of a minor reason to me.

The larger reasons are that the right won't hold their own accountable like Reagan. There have been other presidents in the past, but that is the most recent other than Biden. Once Trump is no longer president, no one is going to be held accountable for him either for his cognitive decline. Trump slurs his words, always falling asleep at public events (and he called Biden, Sleepy Joe?) and doesn't seem connected to the world at large. But MAGA will cover up for him.

The reason the poll gave, though, makes me chuckle at the MAGA-mites on this forum who like to use the Trump Derangement Syndrome: Biden isn't even president and they still can't let him go...talk about Biden Derangement Syndrome....

And they all now suddenly love anonymous sources, no questions asked about any of Tapper’s anonymous sources.

Sorry, but my answer is "Big woo." In his second term, Reagan had Alzheimer's disease, and Nancy Reagan was partly running the country, but Republicans covered up most of the problem. They sure weren't complaining then.

This is what happens when you elect an old guy. Biden was too old, and Trump is too old, too. I'm 76, and I don't think this is about ageism. I think it's realism.

The parties selected Reagan for his second term, Biden for his first, and Trump for his second, solely on the basis that they believed no one else had as much electability. This whole thing is absurd. When Trump's term ends, if ever, people have to start selecting their candidates on the basis of realistic reason.
