Sure, governance is far from perfect and nor are the leaders perfect. The question is which leaders can govern in a way that maintains as much stability as possible while using government to benefit the public. There are all sorts of mixed results out there, but I don't think abandoning the ideal is all that useful of a solution either.

IMO its long past due that someone like a president and/or others like press secretary point out news and how fake they have become. So when it comes to that screw the decorum. It's not just about press conferences though, but about what he actually says and does. I can understand bucking decorum if there's a strategy and end goal, but I find Trump to be a reaction, not a solution. Having politicians be crass and combative doesn't really solve anything since it just doubles down on the division that's already sunk to new lows. Having political leaders calling the opposition "scum" doesn't solve anything either.

Trump is a grievance candidate, and at best serves at demonstrating how bad governance can be with a leader who chooses to be unfiltered. What Trump really offers is governance of the purely top-down style where one person dictates what policy should be and that's it. Every other branch of governance is just a tool to be used by the leader rather than the checks and balances it's designed to be. Trump is certainly in the public eye by design, but to what end? From a media perspective it makes sense since he's top of mind because he's seen often, but on substance he offers little.

I cannot in good conscience entertain the concept of the government spending our tax dollars on investigating a non-crime. These things can done on a private investigation.
