Jake Tapper's new book "Original Sin" exposes the left's (and MSM's) concerted coverup regarding former president Biden's obvious cognitive decline.

Republican lawmakers are now demanding answers from Biden's inner-circle. The House Oversight Committee sent letters to Biden's physician and White House aides, requesting that they appear before the HOC for transcribed interviews.

"Five people were running the country, and Joe Biden was at best a senior member of the board." said one insider.

Yes - the American people deserve to know who was lying, and who were responsible.
Sort of - But the cover-up and collusion was too broad to implicate just a few people. The cover-up and the investigation will fade into obscurity.
No - this HOC investigation is a political stunt by republicans to disparage Biden's presidency.

He's no longer President. He was forced out of the race when it became apparent how bad he had become. I'm not sure what law was broken or what kind of "accountability" there would be. It's a really weird use of Congressional oversight when there's no law broken and the current President is receiving 100's of millions of dollars from companies, foreign countries, foreign billionaires etc.

It's entirely the Republican MO. Pass a tax bill and basically go missing when it comes to solving the countries problems.

Republicans feel like they are "done". They've done their duty, now it's just about smearing the Democratic party so that their losses these midterms aren't as bad.

That's what's hilarious to me. The media is treating this as worse than that. And we are in the current situation exactly because of the kids gloves they handled Trump with after he lost and even more so when he was campaigning for second chance at a second term. They normalized this shit.

The Dems kicked biden out when it was clear he was not up for the job to campaign, meaning they realized he was not up for a second term.

And I say this as someone that despises Biden for how he allowed Israel to act how they have and how he and his god awful AG pick handled Trump and the GOP with kids gloves and took too long to have a case brought against Trump.

I voted no, but the reason given in the poll was more of a minor reason to me.

The larger reasons are that the right won't hold their own accountable like Reagan. There have been other presidents in the past, but that is the most recent other than Biden. Once Trump is no longer president, no one is going to be held accountable for him either for his cognitive decline. Trump slurs his words, always falling asleep at public events (and he called Biden, Sleepy Joe?) and doesn't seem connected to the world at large. But MAGA will cover up for him.

The reason the poll gave, though, makes me chuckle at the MAGA-mites on this forum who like to use the Trump Derangement Syndrome: Biden isn't even president and they still can't let him go...talk about Biden Derangement Syndrome....

But funny how Democrats (and their media) spend four years outright lying to us about Biden, but somehow the issue is that it a "Republican stunt".

Anyone that would have been involved has already been fired. Everyone who works in the White House is automatically fired when a new party takes over the White House.

No that's not what holding people accountable means. House Republicans are laying the foundation for a narrative, and that is democrats are liars, and they cannot be trusted. Republican already know this and probably some democrats do too.

The message needs to go out to the independent voters. If done right, the House Oversight Committee can finger a few key players, and that might result in fewer independents voting for dems in the midterms.

Judging from some of the (inane) comments in this thread, I don't think that the left fully understands the implications of the messaging.

Fair point. I still think that this about getting the electorate aware and informed about the crap that dems pull. This is all messaging, and it can still be very effective without indictments against specific individuals.
