Ivanka Trump and Donald Jr wanted for interviews by House committee - Live

Good luck on that happening the way Democrats are planning.
 
There is no news here. The Democrats are grandstanding in their attempt to get Trump out of office any way they can. If not impreachment or indictment then sway the vote in the election 2020. It would be nice to see democrats come up with good candidates, good policies and reasonable means to pay for the bills. The cannot and will not do those things.

I've said to my friends and family that if Mueller or Congress goes after Trump's kids, especially Ivanka, look out! Trump will literally flip his wig!! In any case, folks (on the right in particular) had to know this was coming after Cohen implicated them in his testimony before Congress.

How are they grandstanding when a witness before Congress implicated them as being complicit in possible criminal activity? Besides, I distinctly recall the Republican Party dragging out a tragic situation against the 2016 Democratic front-running for 2-years ahead of said election cycle even when they had no clear evidence of wrong doing related to said tragic situation. At least here, the Democrat leadership is following up on leads the viewing public heard directly from the witness during questioning. That's not grandstanding; that's congressional leadership doing what they're suppose to do - follow-up on leads and call additional witnesses before Congress, as necessary.

There's no (premeditated) plan here; just follow up based on names dropped during a congressional hearing that could either clear up some issues brought to light OR lead to charges against them for their part in criminal cover up.

They can't do worse than cutting taxes and increasing spending, which was the Republican approach to balancing the budget.

The big threat to Trump is SDNY.
Mueller's report cannot identify any ongoing investigations.

LOL! "Grandstanding"? That's a rather farcical way of saying "Doing the business of the House which is oversight over the Executive Branch".

So let's dig a little deeper in to this 'any way they can' mantra. because we're often hearing they'll go after Trump for 'anything'.

Good thing they have a long list. Because they really can try to take down Trump for 'any' one of the following: violating the emoluments clause, campaign finance violations, abuse of power, obstruction of justice, conspiring with foreign agents or 'any' of his myriad business scams. It's a common refrain around here they'll go after him for 'anything' but since he'll apparently do just about 'anything' illegal he can, then they have a target rich environment.

Or if they can't take him down by highlighting 'any' of his rich array of high crimes and misdemeanors, then instead the public knowing more about these might inform their choices in the 2020 election, or as it was succinctly (and rather disingenuously) presented, 'sway' the electorate with...facts?

It's just like a court. If you're not allowed to lie under oath, you can't really refuse to go.

And by the way what better declaration of innocence than refusing to testify? Bravo. Maybe Bill Clinton should have done the same?

All of a sudden the much vaunted 'rule of law' party...isn't.

The article covers refusal to appear as well.

But it's telling now how the pro-Trump position has evolved from, "No Collusion", to "Bet you can't prove it", to "Go ahead and make me."

If the only recourse now is for Republicans to block subpoeanas because they're worried about what might come out it speaks volumes for both their own corruption and how much faith they have in the Trump family's innocence.

Yeah they'd love to do away with the 1st amendment and lock up all journalists, the 14th to deport all minorities and the 25th to ensure a president for life. But the fifth? They'll keep that one alright.

Also, presidential pardon does not apply, so they could be jailed. Seems like “teeth” to me.

They can play it however they wish. I don’t give a damn. But if they’re subpoenaed, neither yours or Hannity’s whining will give them legal recourse to ignore the subpoena.
