It's about time!

Also known as 'science'. Don't go to a doctor, planar. They have trained and practiced under this system of secretive peer reviews misconducted by the faithful believers of the evidence based medicine religion.
Once again, even the physics behind radiative forcing is taught wrong in climatology. Between the sciences being incorrectly applied, and the closed peer review process, and lack of trying to disprove the hypotheses to prove it...

The climate science community is a total joke!

I'm sure you can straighten them out. :lmao:

If only conservatives were as skeptical about their religion and the claims of corporations and the ultra-rich as they are about climate change.

Point being?

Irrelevant...

You are grouping all to the right of center as the same.

The same can be said about those to the left. I hate to say this, but that large of a generality is very ignorant.

I agree with you re such broad generalisations. In many parts of the world right wingers DO understand that anthropogenic global warming is an issue, and they accept the science.

the real issue between right and left on climate change is more about how to deal with it.

right wingers are not ALL poorly educated conspiracy theorists.

Not science as we think of it today. Still, my meaning fits.

Let me elaborate.

I consider the believers that AGW is primarily caused by CO2, as ignorant as those who believed the world was flat, when shown evidence to the contrary.

When ever I refer to warmers believing the earth is flat, that's what I mean. that they hold on to early beliefs, that are false.

what do you think causes AGW?

LOL...

Science is as much making mistakes and learning from them as it is from making correct assumption.
absolutely true

You know what one of the biggest problems with the Climate sciences method of proving their argument is? They don't try to disprove it! If they want to be taken serious, by serious scientists,

what is your definition of a serious scientist?

Is there a scientific consensus on global warming?

then they need to do all that's in their power to prove their theories, by trying to disprove it, and have it still stand!

I don't think you have been following the science on this issue.

Please tell me when the world is no longer flat.

if you still believe the world is flat, it is no wonder you are so confused about climate change.

You're right.

Most conspiracy theorists seem to come from the left...

do you have a source which identifies a link between conspiracy theories and leftist political ideology?

I haven't seen one. nor have I seen one that definitively links it to conservative political ideology.

I am not looking now, but research that I have seen previously links conspiracy theory ideation to paranoid thinking - and people with right wing views tend to have larger amygdalas (the part of the brain associated with fear and anxiety), it seems that conservatives, on average, would be more prone to faith in conspiracy theories. :)

Sure, but that information comes from scientists.

And we all know scientists are misinformed and/or liars. They arent taught correctly, as the Lord has explained extensively.

The same can be said about those to the left. I hate to say this, but that large of a generality is very ignorant.

To be more specific, rightwingers believe the claims of the rich and corporate interests, who have greed-based motives for their positions. The left does not fall for that, although centrists do. When I hear conservatives have as much doubt about corporate claims as they routinely do with academic research, I'll retract my generalization. (which like all generalizations, is not 100% true)

You're right.

Most conspiracy theorists seem to come from the left...

Liberals are actually KKK sympathizers who intentionally keep blacks and other poor people dependent on government benefits so they can control their votes.

Global warming is a conspiracy among thousands of scientists to take away our freedom and institute socialism.

Those who criticize the tactics of the war on terror are Al Qeda supporters.

Obama is a secret Muslim who is not a real citizen.

Illegal aliens are voting in large numbers.

Muslims in America plan to institute Sharia law.

Most of the world's two billion Muslims want to take away our freedom and force us into being Muslims.

Environmental laws are a way to impose socialism.

Environmentalists want to exterminate humans for the environment.

Liberals support eugenics.

Gay marriage is a plot to destroy marriage.

Liberals prefer Muslims to Christians.

Gays and Atheists are using the schools to impose their ideology and recruit members.

Saying "Happy Holidays" is part of the conspiracy to destroy Christmas and Christianity.

These are all right wing conspiracy theories without a shread of truth. Just from the last thirteen years. The only somewhat popular left wing conspiracy theory is the 9/11 one. No proof on that one IMO, but it is true that the neo-cons hoped for an terrorist attack so they could get involved in theh middle east militarily. (see the Plan for a New American Century)
