I see you've decided to edit your post, good.I wanted to know when assault of an individual nets someone a life sentence.
When this individual is a prime minister.
See, that was easy.
He's not.Why is the Prime Minister better than any other human?
Nope.Do they get extra rights by virtue of public office?
Absolutely not.Are they extra-human in some way?
A prime minister is the functioning leader of the state.Assault is assault, it doesn't matter who is assaulted, it needs to be treated uniformly across the board. Political leaders aren't special, they're people like anyone else with the same rights and liberties as anyone else. If you assault a person, you face certain repercussions from that action. Assaulting a mother or priest or political leader is the same base crime; assault. It doesn't matter who you assault or for what reason you do so.
I think claiming that political leaders are somehow special by nothing more than virtue of holding office is looking down on everyone else.
I would also not be surprised if he had staged the whole damn thing himself, considering his reaction after being attacked...
Who cares about his vanity? I was just aghast that you find it acceptable that a head of state is attacked physically because you don't like him? And then accuse him of staging it.....I guess credibility is of no concern eh?

So where's the comparison here?
Are you saying that Mussolini is to Silvia like execution is to a statue to the face?
This is about as pathetic as people in this country who claim our former president arranged himself to get show to get sympathy votes in the election the following day.
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying..
:applaud
Then you're absolutely wrong.Yes, that is exactly what I am saying..

It is called "hatred", and it is pretty much a strong human emotion.Ive got to admit i sympathize to a degree with Maximus here. Morally i think this is completely wrong in many ways but as much as i try to feel outraged.....i just cant.

The first step is to acknowledge the problem. No, its called disgust not hatred.
As long as he doesn't hurt anyone, he simply enjoys the small pleasures that life has to offer.Well not hatred in a literal sense but pretty much. Whatever your political standpoint you must admit he,s a pretty despicable guy.

Whatcha talkin about, we're like BFF.I dont think you know who Silvio Berlusconi is, what he stands for and the ways he operates in.
As long as he doesn't hurt anyone, he simply enjoys the small pleasures that life has to offer.
I find nothing wrong with that.
And if he is found guilty of corruptness, as some claim, then the fitting punishment should be delivered - but you do realize that this punishment wouldn't be violent, right?

He didn't kill anyone.Yea like whores, drugs, killing off the opposition and such "fun things".
You have your own words alone to promote your arguments.LOL you do know that he has done everything in his power to block any legal action against him right? Berlosconi is in many ways no better than Chavez and any other 2 bit dictator who rewrites laws and constitutions to keep him in power.
As long as you admit it's wrong, the moral high ground is yours.Im don't care about his personal life except in the way in interacts with politics (Cabinet posts have alledgedly been obtained through sucking up to Berlusconi in a...somewhat literal sense). Ultimately its corruption im bothered about. But again im not saying it was morally right/is right (tactically speaking its also quite stupid) to respond to this through violence I simply said i found it hard to be outraged. I try but the feeling just isnt there.

How about proving that he has practiced dictatorial acts?
So you think you know? :2razz:Fatal twist in transsexual scandal - Herald Scotland | News | World News
So who knows... a person linked to a sex and drug scandal involving Berlosconi (and yes others) is murdered... who knows..
A lot of democracies give immunity to their leaders from the law during their administration, and once that ends, their immunity is automatically removed and they can be charged.France24 - Top court throws out Berlusconi immunity law
So making a law to prevent prosecution of the Prime Minister and his cohorts is not the act of a dictator?
And lets not forget his links to the Mafia.
So you think you know? :2razz:

Thats exactly where "democracy" in America is at the moment.
