Kavanaugh might have just lied under oath about whether or not he watched his accuser's testimony.

During the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the sexual assault allegation by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford against President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) closed out her line of questioning with a simple query: "Did you watch Dr. Ford's testimony?"

"I did not," replied Kavanaugh. "I plan to, but I did not. I was preparing mine."

Brett Kavanaugh: "I did not. I plan to but I did not -- I was preparing mine" Full coverage: Kavanaugh and Ford hearing

It would not have been surprising if Kavanaugh had decided not to watch Ford's testimony. When Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill, he did not bother to watch her hearing either.

But in fact, it turns out Kavanaugh might be lying.

At least, he is lying if you believe a Senate Judiciary staffer who told the Wall Street Journal earlier today that Kavanaugh had been among a group of people watching Ford's testimony from a monitor in the Dirksen Senate Office Building:

Oh, oh. Kavanaugh of Loose Morals caught in a perjury trap, a little fib under oath. Of course he watched Dr. Ford's testimony, if only to prepare his own. So why lie about it under oath when asked a few hours later?

Brett Kavanaugh really really likes to perjure.

Hatch: Now, this is an important question. Did Mr. Miranda ever share, reference, or provide you with any documents that appeared to you to have been drafted or prepared by Democratic staff members of the Senate Judiciary Committee?

Kavanaugh: No, I was not aware of that matter ever until I learned of it in the media late last year.

There are an awful lot of kids who got busted for eighteen year old drinking who'd like their cases dismissed now that Kavanaugh has retroactively declared that the MD drinking age was eighteen on the date he "allegedly" assaulted Ms. Ford.

Oh wait, he can't do that, it's actually called PERJURY and it's a crime.

Drinking at 18 was legal when I WAS in high school, but I'm Walter Johnson HS Class of 1975.
GO SPARTANS.

BS, Kavanaugh was under close security, he wasn't out in some hallway watching the thing on monitors.. He was in a room under lock and key the time since arriving at the Senate hearing. Now, he might have watched a little at his home, who knows.. BUT, man, you people are so gullible it's amazing just how much you'd believe!

Not to mention Kavanah claimed he wasn't a heavy drinker in HS. During his Faux Noose interview he claimed to be all about "academics, basketball and the lord". Gag me!

Tim-

He has lied under oath about so many other things why would anyone believe him now?

And Boof and Devils triangles. I'm sure his wife will be happy with those if she bothers to look them up.

You get more hysterically ridiculous with each foamy mouthed thread.

hair on fire.webp

Kavanaugh has retroactively declared that the MD drinking age was eighteen[/URL] on the date he "allegedly" assaulted Ms. Ford.
Given that he was 17, I think it's irrelevant other than for those who were 18, beer was legal and readily available.

Did you grow up in the Bethesda area? (DC suburbs of Maryland)

Anyone want to bet that this committee aide is Democrat?

And if Kavanaugh did commit perjury, especially on such a stupid point, that aide would be doing a public service.

But, yeah, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that an aide who would reveal this is not likely to be a Republican. That might not cut the way you think it would.

The Senate Judiciary staffer may have had his or her eyes glued to the monitor, but Ford was busy preparing his testimony. You are fabricating an allegation out of thin air, just like any other leftist liar.

GO SPARTANS.

Drinking age in MD was changed to age 21 in 1982. However there was a grandfather clause that exempted anyone that was age 18 by July 1st 1982, the date the law was to go into effect.

Kavanaugh's birthday is in February.

It helps to look at the law at the time instead of just believing whatever you're told.

IF. Who is this aide? What's their name? Can it be verified that this aide was in the same room? "IF's" don't cut it.

Incorrect, you had to be born on June 30, 1964 or earlier.
I grew up in the DC suburbs of Maryland, two miles from Georgetown Prep.

Brett Kavanaugh however, was born February 12, 1965, plus he wasn't even eighteen yet at the time of the alleged attack.

Hey, now, I didn't claim it was true.

You're making a mockery of this board. It's either "Ford was busy preparing HER testimony. Or "Kavanaugh was busy preparing his testimony. ONE or the other; duh!

You are correct. I really should not attempt math with migraines. :P

Look, don't "feel bad" because the truth is, in the 1970's in that part of Maryland (I can only speak about Montgomery County) the law underwent so many changes in a short period of time that police finally decided "screw it" for the most part!

What do I mean by that? By that I mean, in the early 1970's, if you had a draft card (you had registered with the Selective Service) or you were active duty military, and you were on private property and not driving and not contributing to the delinquency of a KID maybe 14 or 15 years old or younger, the chances of you getting busted for underage drinking were almost ZERO unless you pissed the cop off to the point where he was going to make an example of out of you.
If you were in the presence of "responsible adults 21 and over" and they weren't being jerks, you were also probably okay.

I can't even count the number of "field parties" I went to circa 1971 - 1976-ish...and we drank. We drank BEFORE the 1974 drop to age 18 and we drank when we were under 18. I myself did not have more than one beer usually, but that's because one beer was a lot for me, I was and still am a lightweight. Once in a while I might have had TWO....hoo boy howdy.

But our little field parties were constantly getting popped by Montgomery County cops, MD State Troopers, town cops from Kensington, etc.
The routine was always the same, if it was a kegger, they made us empty it out, if it was cans and bottles, we had to pour it out, if it was a dime bag of weed, they made us empty it out onto the ground and destroy it or they confiscated it.
I can only remember ONE guy getting busted and that guy was begging for it.
And his older brother was a Kensington Volunteer fireman and so they dropped the charges and let his brother come pick him up.

They loved busting people for DUI but kids out drinking in a field somewhere or at a house party? Naaaah...the reason a house party would have gotten busted is because someone was being an asshole and they deserved what they got but if they were cool, the PD was cool.
That's how it was in Montgomery County.

PG County cops were the scary cops, you didn't want to get caught doing anything. Montgomery County cops? There were a few jerks but by and large MCPD back in those days were pretty decent except for traffic. (LOL) They also loved busting motorheads...but even there, if you KNEW the right cops, no worries as long as you weren't being too much of a jerk.
It was the MD State Troopers who made the hot rodder's lives miserable.
