I had a thread saying Netenyahu, in rightly defending the country and pursuing justice against Hamas, needs to act responsibly.

It's clear that's not remotely the case.

It appears clear he views the attack as giving him license to commit any attack, crime, atrocity against the entire population of Gaza.

The two million people there are seeing their homes, mosques, schools, hospitals leveled. Israel has cut off *all water and food*, nearly all power and fuel, leaving for example hospitals without power, killing many patients.

The idea of their 'siege' in which the entire population is starved of food and water while being bombed is an incredible moral crime the world needs to oppose, which Netenyahu is taking advantage of the attack as license to commit.

It's too close to the attack and justified sympathy for the Israeli victims for many to be ready to recognize the immediate committing of gretaer crimes by Netenyahu, but it appears that's what's happening. We could discuss Netenyahu's motives, but they're secondary to the actions and harm. The US more than anyone should use our leverage to intervene, but we won't, because our political culture is corrupted to Israe.l

We should be providing aid to Israel, support for their *appropriate* defense and response to the attack, military aid fitting that; we should not aid them in the committing of great crimes against the people of Gaza.

It appears that the actions of Netenyahu should be dwarfing those of Hamas in the harm and condemnation, tragically. What are the two million in Gaza supposed to do, imprisoned, without water or food? It's a historic crime by Netenyahu not remotely justified by Hamas' attack appearing to reflect placing no value on Palestinian lives.

"Israel has right to defend itself, but "collective punishment" of all Palestinians unfair, EU diplomat says"

"Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas attacks, but it has to do it in accordance with international law, the European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said Tuesday."

"Some background: Hamas, which runs Gaza, presents itself as an alternative to the PA, which has recognized Israel and has engaged in multiple failed peace initiatives with it."

Hamas kills american citizens, but you want to take it easy on them.

If only hamas was russian, you'd be calling for their heads.

Israel has undoubtedly killed more children in the past 4 days than Hamas.
Going forward it appears Israel will kill many more, while nearly all children threatened by Hamas are among the 100+ hostages Hamas is trying to use to deter those killings of children. Of course, Hamas has already committed atrocities killing children in the initial attack as well.

Nope, Israel is, for choosing tactics they know will lead to mass civilian deaths.
who choose to abduct israeli and AMERICAN civilians, and parade their bodies in the street again? Who was that? what was their names?

oh yea, hamas, and now they want to clutch their pearls as they're bombed. "WILL NO ONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN????" lol

Do you think that the 1.3 million kids under the age of 14 living in Gaza had anything to do with it?

Hamas is responsible for the literal hell on earth being suffered by every individual in Gaza right now.

No one else.

Had Hamas not decided to undertake a terrorist attack on Israelis and other civilians inside Israel - then Israel would not have declared war.

“But Hamas” is not an excuse for slaughtering civilians.

Israel deciding to prove it is every bit as bad says it all.

It was hell on earth there a week ago, and 6 months ago.

Israel is responsible for Gaza being hell on earth.

Do you believe the american tourists who were abducted had anything to do with conflict?

No. They didn't. Not only is their blood on their heads, but also the blood spilled of the gazans they control.

CNN: "When Biden delivers a second speech on the situation in Israel later today, he will continue to hold back from urging Netanyahu to exercise restraint, according to officials familiar with the remarks."

Yes, kill more people. That makes you feel better.

“But Hamas” is not an excuse for slaughtering civilians.
yes it is. If hamas wants to use civilian lives as bargaining chips, if any enemy wants to do that, then the lives of their own, who THEY are responsible, are to be used as bargaining chips as well. It's a war, and should be treated as such. If the enemy goes low, we go low.

Maybe they will learn not to mess with the Israelis
You could say 'Maybe Israel will learn not to mess with Palestinians' to defend the Hamas attack just the same. It's wrong in both cases, and you should not be defending atrocities.
