I had a thread saying Netenyahu, in rightly defending the country and pursuing justice against Hamas, needs to act responsibly.
It's clear that's not remotely the case.
It appears clear he views the attack as giving him license to commit any attack, crime, atrocity against the entire population of Gaza.
The two million people there are seeing their homes, mosques, schools, hospitals leveled. Israel has cut off *all water and food*, nearly all power and fuel, leaving for example hospitals without power, killing many patients.
The idea of their 'siege' in which the entire population is starved of food and water while being bombed is an incredible moral crime the world needs to oppose, which Netenyahu is taking advantage of the attack as license to commit.
It's too close to the attack and justified sympathy for the Israeli victims for many to be ready to recognize the immediate committing of gretaer crimes by Netenyahu, but it appears that's what's happening. We could discuss Netenyahu's motives, but they're secondary to the actions and harm. The US more than anyone should use our leverage to intervene, but we won't, because our political culture is corrupted to Israe.l
We should be providing aid to Israel, support for their *appropriate* defense and response to the attack, military aid fitting that; we should not aid them in the committing of great crimes against the people of Gaza.
It appears that the actions of Netenyahu should be dwarfing those of Hamas in the harm and condemnation, tragically. What are the two million in Gaza supposed to do, imprisoned, without water or food? It's a historic crime by Netenyahu not remotely justified by Hamas' attack appearing to reflect placing no value on Palestinian lives.
