Perhaps the woman quoted was too malnurished to give birth. The immigrants of 1991 weren't exactly in great shape, running from war in Ethiopia.
You know that physicians will OFTEN try to coax women into doing things that they think are the right choice. Perhaps some of these women had 4, 5, 6 or more children? A lot of times doctors will advise that you not have more children if you have had that many because of many different complications that can arise due to weakening of the uterus and supportive structures. So to assume that there some kind of "population control" at hand is kind of silly IMO.
Well...
That's probably actually vaccinations and they could not travel to Israel without them. There's no evidence to link this to contraception shots, it's just a disjointed story line that's trying to imply what is not stated.
ONE MORE TIER!
"Those lying black bastards from Ethiopia were simply too malnourished to give birth for 40 years!".
America has a rich history of eugenics and other involuntary experimentation on its citizens and soldiers. So, we should be very soft in our criticisms of other countries.

As first generation immigrants, they were coming from a country with a fertility rate of 6 to one of 3. Their fertility/birth rate coming in line with Israel's ("dropping in half") over 10 years seems reasonable. The average woman going from 6 births to 3 could just be a matter of time, the prevention of having 8 or more children and things omitted from the calculation.
Let's keep the ball rolling!
"It was those dastardly Israeli doctors from the Israeli Ministry of Health trying to help poor black women with fertile ovaries from being fertile all over the precious white State of Israel!"

The women interviewed spoke of travelling from Ethiopia to Israel. They are from 1991 or earlier? How can we look at figures of "in the past 10 years" unless they are 1991 arrivals? Perhaps they're earlier arrivals, then what do their daughters have to say?

I thought about this earlier, but I would say you don't see the same drastic changes in the developing world, with rural people moving into urban centers where the dynamics surrounding birth rates are drastically different. Of course, here the women would be getting introduced to a rather well run state health and education system
Ugh, the fact that my ancestors did something means little to my ability to level criticism in the modern world, especially when I can recognize and argue competently why something is wrong.
At the very least you could have pulled out Holmes' infamous quote: ""Three generations of imbeciles are enough"
WE'RE ON A ROLL!
"it's not eugenics, it's "a well run state health and education system!"
AND AGAIN!
What these women really need is an education on why it is unhealthy for them not only financially but health wise to birth so many children, and they need to be educated not to be afraid of birth control too.

"it's not eugenics, it's "a well run state health and education system!"
THIS ONE MAKES NO SENSE!
"It's not just eugenics, it's GENERATIONAL eugenics, which you know, makes it okay."
Yes, you are posting again after saying you were done with this thread.

I changed my mind.
Shoot me.
My reference was not directed at any one post or poster. It was just intended to soften the rhetoric.
In modern times, we refuse to sterilize rapists and murderers because of some perceived god given right of endless reproduction. Look how well that's working out.
If the Israelis, who I don't support at all costs, decided to slow the growth of these hapless, uneducated immigrants from one of the worst countries in the world, and embraced them to a much more prosperous nation, I say kudos to them.
"Three generations of imbeciles are enough". Thanks for the quote Mr. F.
