Btw, Israel has been committing atrocities - disproportionately so - against captive civilians in Gaza for many years, in attempts to "wipe out" Hamas.

Gaza City does not have the systems of mass transportation available in NYC. Furthermore, even if it did, there's currently no electricity or gasoline to FUEL mass transit systems. Or private vehicles.

The center of Gaza city is about 2 miles from the southern edge of Gaza City. That's a 40 minute walk, at most.

It's besides the point anyway. They haven't held an election in 17 years, which certainly kills any possible claim of democratic legitimacy today. Most of the country's current population never even had the option to vote for them.
