those people all decided on their own to get on that ride

the current situation in the US involves multiple hostages
Not only did they freely decide to get on that ride, but in the event the pothead driver from California manages to tip the vehicle into the mud pond, those young passengers can survive jumping off into the water. They all look like young, strong men who can survive a jump into the water.

The world is not going to fall apart because of one person

What vague prediction—so vague as to be meaningless.
It does sound nice and the tone of the message is an attempt to offer comfort, though. It has that going for it.

The interest on America's debt has gone up because of one person.
The value of the dollar has gone down because of one person.
The value of hundreds of millions of Americans' savings has gone down because of one person.

But, yes, the Earth itself will remain intact.

Perhaps you are a benefit to today's pessimistic society.
Not all jeremiads need to be totally pessimistic and hopelessly fateful. But don't you think blaming just one person for those alleged ills in your post is a little simplistic?
That's like blaming the Wicked Witch for all of Dorothy's problems in the Land of OZ.

Classic Literature Examples

In old literature, jeremiads tell us a lot about societal issues in a deep way. For example, Jonathan Edwards’s sermon talks about society’s moral problems. It makes people scared but also makes them think. Another example is in “Moby-Dick,” where Captain Ahab’s extreme focus criticizes human arrogance. William Faulkner’s novels dive into the troubles of the American South, showing a struggling society.
In today’s books, jeremiads are still very influential. Norman Mailer’s book critiques America during the Vietnam War with real events and storytelling. Thomas Pynchon’s work shows how modern times have left people feeling lost and worried. These stories carry on the tradition of jeremiads by talking about today’s problems.
Looking at jeremiads through old and new stories helps us reflect on society. They make us think deeply about our own cultural and moral issues. They push us to notice and aim for change.

Is your point that Trump has many enablers?

Is your point that Trump has many enablers?
I guess you can say he has lots of enablers in the sycophants and billionaires surrounding him. Not to mention all of the House and Senate members who have hitched their wagons to his star and want to continue enjoying a long ride.
Also, not to mention all of the world leaders who want to curry his favor in order to secure favorable trade arrangements going forward.

So, pretty much you're just pretending to play semantics

Also, not to mention all of the world leaders who want to curry his favor in order to secure favorable trade arrangements going forward.

Those are some new fangled cryptids

Sorry you can't see that is what is happening in D.C. politics and with global trading partners.

show me, then

Are statements from Trumpco the only source you have for your assertion?

Nobody is going to save you. Forget the courts, they wont stop him. Ya gotta do things yourself.

Oh I am sure the Courts (up to and even including the Supreme Court to some degree) want to stop him. They just cannot stop him, since they rely on the President and executive branch to enforce their rulings.

Ive heard the phrase you are the one you have been waiting for. It resonates.

I certainly understand how you feel which is unfortunate and disappointing. But I certainly can't understand how and why you got to such a gloom and doom position. The world is not going to fall apart because of one person especially since we lived through four years of him before.
You just flat-out don't understand. In Trump 1.0 he had all sorts of barriers around him stopping him from his worst ambitions. It's so bad this time around, he sits in the Oval Office and jokes about sending American citizens to an El Salvadoran prison and his lackeys laugh about it. The problem is, we all know he's not joking.

Trump has literally no one in his circle anymore who will push back.
Unfortunately, we entered into a four your span of an Administration which embarrassed our entire country by handing over a victory to a bunch of AK-47-wielding 7th century goat herders who took over an entire country from the greatest military in the world. Then we went through a period of incredibly high inflation because the president wanted to buy votes and good will by giving away over a trillion in free money during a pandemic. Then we had to witness millions of illegal aliens swarm across our border to end up disappearing into our major cities with those cities spending hundreds of millions to house, feed, and care for those migrants in formerly high class hotels.
Yeah, I guess I can understand why you are so despondent over having to transfer over your disgust of one president to another president who is trying to close the open borders; get inflation under control; strengthen our military; and get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse in our federal government.

Let me pause here,
His potential for destruction is much more than saying it's just one person. He has no moral compass and he's normalized lying. We're talking about a president, not city dog catcher.

That's a media driven laundry list that doesn't address the matter. My choice here is to summarize that your paragraph is exaggerated in parts but more often just false.

You imagined me and those claims.

If you are so ashamed of what America is, then what plans do you have to migrate to a better country of which you can be proud?
This is no time for surrender.

Or perhaps you have hope that another Barack Obama will suddenly appear and save us all from the embarrassment of two Trump Administrations.
That's your imagination again.

You write about my imagination but you don't how your assessment of Trump is based on your imagined fears of what he will do.
You wrote: " His potential for destruction is much more than saying it's just one person."
You are actually assuming that no one can stop him if he decides to damage the globe with his herky jerky tariff policies.

You are worried about Trump sending American citizens to an El Salvadoran prison. Are you such a Constitutional lawyer that you can say with certainty that act would be illegal?

J621 was not my imagination. He is defying the Scotus today in the return of Garcia from the Salvadoran prison. I've read both federal indictments several times and I'm aware of his criminality and there's a long list of true facts about trump that are not my imagination.

And as I've said, there are no longer checks and balances.

I was aware of his dangerous and delusional incompetence long before his crackpot tariff theory.

No, cause people are able to get out and swim. And it looks like most of those folk were willing participants.

In the real world most of us are stuck on this dumb roller coaster ride.
The swimmers are the regular people those desperately clinging on as they go down are MAGA

He's defying a SC order right now after defying two lower court orders. What in the world makes you believe Trump cares about what is legal or illegal. He plans to do what he wants.

If only I could swim away from the tarriff nonsense, Constitutional destruction, and fascist coup going on.

Your DP handle says it all. Why would anyone expect you to agree that Trump could be doing the best for the greatest number of citizens? How many in the Opposition see Garcia as worthy enough for a George-Floyd-like statue so we can focus all of our anger on one person who may or may be wrongfully imprisoned?

Another Liberal whose vote Trump has lost if he manages to run in the next presidential election.
Trump can't win for losing in this political debate site.

Trump lost my vote forever when he rode down that escalator in 2015. For me, it was over before it got started.

For every decent thing Trump has done (and there have been a few), he had done 20 horrible things.

I get the joke, he can't lose what he never had. ha ha ho ho
I agree, "I will never vote for him because he is not worthy of my vote."
