Is there a single example of cultural conservatism being on the right side of history?

All nations had slaves. None of them created the wealth and freedom of the US.
We have done better than anyone else ever did.
Not perfect, just the best.

Right?

Wyoming has 403 juveniles per 100,000 in detention :

Pennsylvania has 235 per 100k in custody: black youths ratio 7:1 compared to whites. Report from a 16 bed Pennsylvania "facility"
June 24, 2023
"Director Rich Gordon confirmed that state investigators are conducting a review of operations in the wake of two incidents just days apart in early June, including a suspected suicide attempt by one child and another child suffering self-inflicted injuries....Gordon said two employees were removed from duty pending the outcome of the probe, which exacerbated what has become an ongoing crisis to adequately meet required state-mandated staffing levels. Before the closure, the facility on South Grande Boulevard already was understaffed with 14 vacant positions.

You can refute anything.
Can you refute anything I have said?
Directly, and to the point?

You haven't so far.
Snore...I guess there is nothing else to discuss then.

All is good in MAGA fantasy world.

Yep. Here is what they were saying about the Irish immigrants back in the day:

“[T]hey steal, they are cruel and bloody, full of revenge, and delighting in deadly execution, licentious, swearers and blasphemers, common ravishers of women, and murderers of children.”
—Edmund Spencer

“The emigrants who land at New York, whether they remain in that city or come on in the interior, are not merely ignorant and poor—which might be their misfortune rather than their fault—but they are drunken, dirty, indolent, and riotous, so as to be the objects of dislike and fear to all in whose neighbourhood they congregate in large numbers.”
—James Silk Buckingham

Basically, "They're not sending us their best people", right?
The reason Appalachia is historically Scots-Irish is because they landed in Philadelphia and were behaving badly. As a result, they were pushed into the mountains.

Wait. Are you saying we made better use of our slaves? You really want to run with that?
No. That's not it.
Slaves were a common factor.

They weren't the only factor. We did better with the other factors.

What do you disagree with?

All sorts of ideas arise out of all sorts of other ideas. Christianity in the west arose against a background of pagan Greco-Roman thought. Are you saying we should all now go worship Zeus and Athena?
I mean, why not?

Not sure what that has to do with dominant culture though.

All nations had slaves. None of them created the wealth and freedom of the US.
We have done better than anyone else ever did.
Not perfect, just the best.

Right?

Civilizations come, and civilizations go. It happens for all sorts of contingent historical reasons. Just about every part of the world and every culture has, at some point or other, been the greatest the world has ever seen, until they weren't.

Not sure what this has to do with being white or Christian. At one point they were the most backward and poverty-stricken in the world.

In ancient days, where legends slept,
A tapestry of empires wept,
Civilization's rise and fall,
A dance eternal, standing tall.

In Mesopotamia, a seed was sown,
The birth of cities, hearts unknown,
Foundations laid, ambitions soared,
A symphony of dreams restored.

Through corridors of time, they thrived,
Humanity's spirit, so deeply alive,
Splendors crafted, wonders made,
In golden eras, progress swayed.

But oh, how fleeting, their brilliant gleam,
For greatness, too, was bound to teem,
The ebb and flow, a cosmic tide,
As grandeur wanes and dreams subside.

For power's grasp, a tempting snare,
Hubris whispered, beware, beware,
Empires crumbled, like sand through hand,
Remnants scattered, across the land.

Egypt's pyramids, resplendent towers,
Whisper tales of bygone hours,
Once grand pharaohs, now mere dust,
A legacy faded, in ages thrust.

Persepolis, ancient and grand,
A testament to a long-lost land,
Columns rise, stories unfold,
Whispers silently, the majesties of old.

The Romans reigned with iron might,
Yet fell to dust, eclipsed by night,
Greek philosophers, wisdom's light,
Now only echoes in the starry height.

And on the horizon, the Great Wall stood,
A testament to strength, a symbol of good,
Stretching for miles, an awe-inspiring sight,
Now nothing more, than a tourist site.

Machu Picchu, a peak embraced,
Ancient secrets, time displaced,
Now in ruins, a glimpse unfolds,
In stone and spirit, history's stronghold.

The Taj Mahal, an ode to love immortal,
Now only just, a tourist portal.
Yet amidst the ruins, stories told,
Of wonders mighty, centuries old.

From empires vast to kingdoms grand,
They stood as testaments, shaped by hand,
Yet cycles turned,destinies untold,
In swirling tides, their fate unfolds.

And so, we witness, history's sway,
As civilizations wax and wane,
A reminder profound, to humankind,
That time's embrace leaves none behind.

Yet through the ages, hope persists,
In every heart that dreams and insists,
We learn, we grow, we rise anew,
From ashes born, our spirits true.

For civilization, in ceaseless flow,
Shall navigate, what storms bestow,
In unity's embrace, we find,
A resilience to eternally bind.

So let us cherish what came before,
The lessons learned, the lore we store,
And strive to shape a better way,
To honor the ebb and flow each day.

Well, I think that might be an oversimplification of observation, but if so, that is understandable.
But when all is said and done and all is boiled down it so very often comes down to the bare bones of a binary argument.

I would respectfully disagree.
I think in the end, though a plethora of possibilities might be considered along the way it will still be a binary choice, YES or NO.
Fire...Hold you our fire.
To start the war sure.
But all the wars we've been involved in have been multi pronged. Oil, democracy. Communism, attack. Oil, attack, democracy.
We are talking about the 'reasons' for the Civil war. It was multi pronged as well. Slavery was one of the issues, as was States rights.

BLM is a Marxist organization that hasn't done anything to save black lives so I doubt MLK would like it.
😂😂😂

King Jr was routinely accused of being a Communist and of "not helping" the Black community. If you had bothered to read "Letter from a Birmingham Jail," he's pushing back against those types of criticisms. I.e. Your response is exactly what I'm talking about.

Why don't they tell black men to cooperate with cops?
Hello? It's because the police are abusing and killing Black men -- even when they cooperate. Have you been asleep for the past 5, 10, 15 years?

Why don't they say anything about the carnage in Chicago?
Yaay, more bullshit right-wing tropes!

In case you missed it, Chicago and its police department has a long history of racism and abuse. That's likely a key component to Chicago's crime rate.

You were also apparently too busy accusing BLM of being "Marxists" to know what they actually do, let alone what they're doing in Chicago, let alone how they're organized. It's a decentralized group that works on a wide variety of topics, mostly focusing on ending police abuse of the Black community. After all, police can't be effective when they are unable to earn the trust of the people they are supposed to protect; and they can't earn that trust when they are routinely abusing those communities.

But hey, why bother with facts, when you can just call people "Marxists" instead?

You actually won't address my points.

You're a coward.

Why are you on this board?
I can tell that nothing I say is going to matter to you. You obviously have little understanding of American history and you have moronic views about Trump's "accomplishments".

You're just not worth my time.

70% of black fathers don't support their families, which makes it impossible for them to accumulate wealth.
As long as this remains true, there will be high black poverty no matter what else is done.
So, let me get this straight.

I quoted King Jr extensively, to show how little you understand his position. As a reply, you cite one completely irrelevant statistic that is largely the result of systemic racism, as though that explains everything? Shut the front door.

Same issue.

Late November, 2020 reporting quoting Trump military and other appointees in Trump touted vaccine distribution plan contradicting Trump's claims...

“Our military is doing the distribution — it’s called logistics,” he said in a video posted to Twitter on Oct. 7.

Two weeks later, at his debate with Democrat Joe Biden, now the president-elect, Trump said, “We have Operation Warp Speed, which is the military is going to distribute the vaccine.”

In fact, the military will not distribute the vaccine, although state governors have the power to use members of their National Guard for any number of tasks supporting public safety, including to help with vaccine logistics if deemed necessary.
....
“There will not be this vision that some people have that there will be Army trucks driving through the streets delivering vaccine,” Perna said Oct. 27.

Nor will the military produce, store or administer the vaccines. The Pentagon has been saying for months that it would only get involved in vaccine distribution in the event that commercial distributors were unable to reach a remote area of the country.

“The federal military will not be involved in moving any doses or injecting any vaccines,” Paul Mango, the deputy chief of staff for policy at Health and Human Services, said Oct. 24."

BTW, an orderly, cooperative transition instead of a toddler tantrum criminal liar would have been appreciated by at least 81 million voters!

No. I didn't reply to all that.

I replied about the cause of black poverty, which seems pretty clear.

That fact completely explains black poverty.

You say that racism has done that to the black family. Explain that.

The sexual revolution then, and the one that has happened more recently is being touted as a good thing (and in certain ways it is, it empowered women), what is also led to was the destruction of the nuclear family which is NOW attempting to be sold as A-ok.
Yes, financially/socially, single motherhood is proven to be a bad thing.
Is the nuclear family where the wife/mom was expected to perform duties without paying or recognition, denying her even her own identity (Mr and Mrs Bob Jones)?

I can tell that nothing I say is going to matter to you. You obviously have little understanding of American history and you have moronic views about Trump's "accomplishments".

You're just not worth my time.
OH, I COULD destroy you positions on these topics, I just don't WANT to.

That is third grade bullshit.

Who wrote the poem? It's not very good.

Haha. ChatGPT. I told it to write a poem about the ebb and flow of civilizations. I didn't think it was too bad! I added a few stanzas to it. Look at it again!:)

You saying so, doesn’t make it so.

So far, saying so is all you’ve done.

Post supporting link/s proving your claim, or shaddup.

Awww, someone‘s mad I debunked his argument and showed most Americans of the time actually did dislike MLK.

Sorry to burst the flag waving bubble you are clinging to.

I don't accuse BLM of being Marxist. The three founders assert it. They call themselves "trained marxist".
It was on their website for years.
How do you not know that?

How does MLK being accused of communism relate to this topic?

I have been wide awake for the past 15 years and the well known black men killed by cops were not cooperating.

Tell me one who was.

Thing is, you didn’t.

At all.

A nuclear family is one with a mommy and a daddy and some kids.

Why all the feminist crap?
