Is The U.S. Military Socialism? (1 Viewer)

Oh, I'm sorry, must one be in the military to understand the basics on logic, reason, and for that matter the Internet?

umm, you're talking to apdst... those are foreign concepts to him

Well pointed out but I think the "contract" part is too vague. Suppose it was an org that said, "when you sign this you are contracted a socialist." Then are they still not a socialist because they are doing it by contract? I ask because it seems you are making the argument that if it is contractual then it can't be socialist.

I'm not making any such comparison with that . . . I'm actually wandering away (well - following someone else who wandered away) from the 'socialist' side of the discussion with that bit, there. . . .and discussing contractual obligations and stipulations in the military and civilian world of employment.

I'm sure in a socialist nation you have contracts, too

The argument has beem put forth that facists and communists--both are forms of socialism actually--aren't the same, because the communists didn't persecute ethnic peoples....

is that the ONLY reason that its been shown that Socialism and Nazism are not the same?

the USSR nationalized ALL industry, ALL businesses, basically ALL economics.

the Nazis allowed private industry, corporations, private business, and private property.

The USSR sought to unite all workers, regardless of sex, race, ethnicity. The Nazis discriminate against Jews, homosexuals, leftists, Gypsies, and others who did not fit their "master race".

The USSR persecuted all religion. The Nazis openly embraced the Catholic and Lutheran Church.

tell us again, how Socialism and Nazism are the same.

People mis-educate their selves on socialism when the only country they look to for an 'example' is Nazi Germany. . . they should, instead, look to other 'socialist' nations and try to see it from a different view.

Unfortunately - socialism is the 'we love everybody so much!' leg so dictators tend to lean on it liek a crutch.
