“New Yorkers paid their cable bills expecting to see live sports programming. Now they are being asked to pay extra if they want to watch this exciting home run chase, and potentially historic game,” James said in a statement “That is why I am calling on Apple and the MLB to reach a fair accommodation with the YES Network so that fans can watch what we all hope will be history made this evening.”

Apple is a for-profit business. She is saying a company offering a game for free should forfeit its rights to the game, which they paid for in favor of cable tv?

If it results in unfair market practices, then I don’t see anything wrong with the statement. What Apple paid is irrelevant.

If James is stating outright lies like you need to pay money to watch the Yankees on apple tv you cannot trust anything coming out of her mouth.

She is not protecting New York, she has a political agenda.

Is the cost of the Yankees game a cost on top of the basic Apple TV monthly subscription or is it packaged into that basic subscription cost?

From the article the answer is both, depending on timeframe, which is where the concern is. Apple is using this to force people to sign up for their service.

In terms of your article, it’s being nit picky over this nuance, which is why I see your concern as overstated and apples actions are worrying.

For me, I don’t care for sports, so I have no skin in this particular game.

The direction we are headed with pro sports will eventually see just about everything as exclusive coverage higher priced limited access networks and/or ppv.

Nothing, that's what.

I absolutely hate that the Yankees have sold some games to Prime, some to Apple and some to the major networks but my unhappiness needs to be directed where it belongs, at the Yankees.

OK, they get a bigger pay day now and then but it loses me as a fan, a 60 year fan watching on local networks.

Agree. My concern is knowing her dishonest nature, does she really have enough to bring down Donald. She could not get anyone to flip. They choose jail to keep Donny out.
I doubt she can win this and simply wanted the publicity.
