No one wants to seal the borders, they want to control them.
Yes it is possible, but costly. We wiped out smallpox, sent men to the moon, won two world wars,so almost anything is possible. I would we just happy with a secured wall or even a secured fence on our northern and southern borders and have boats and panes that patrol 10-20 miles(or more) west or east out in the ocean depending on where our borders meet other countries, that would be way more effective than what we got now. Sure a few might sneak though, which is better than the hundreds or thousands that sneak through. If you have a leaky faucet you do not let it run at full blast just because you can not turn it off all the way, you shut it the best you can so that only a little bit of water comes out and then worry about getting it fixed once you are able to get it fixed.
Even East Germany couldn't totally seal its borders. There's no way the U.S. can.
If the Berlin wall didn't work what on earth makes you think a chain link fence extending a tiny portion of the border will?
When the Berlin wall was up I seriously doubt a **** of people crossed the border.5000 people successfully escaped to West Berlin during the whole entire time the wall was up, what is that was basically a 179 people a year between 1961-1990. So it is retarded to say the Berlin Wall didn't work.

OK....Give it another shot then:
Please give us a realistic/affordable method for sealing all our borders???

If only a 179 people came into the US illegally each year I do not think we would have the 12-20 million plus illegals in this country that we do now.
it's not about sealing the border totally it's about sealing it to the degree where INS can deal with the amount that do get through. If you decreased the amount of undocumented entries into the country by 70% the INS could deal with the rest.

You would be happy with a Berlin-style wall across the entire US-Mexico border?
What, exactly, is wrong with such a thing? You would be happy with a Berlin-style wall across the entire US-Mexico border? Wow, I really didn't think you'd take the bait but you did and you went way further than I could have imagined.
