I didn't say that. We should have done targeted strikes, kind of like the kind that got Bin Laden.

By the way, Hillary voted to authorize both wars did she not?
I think they should have leadership qualities that are demonstratable. Should not have questionable political pasts, should be moral, should have executive experience. Just to name a few.
Was that so difficult?
Now match up the candidates who have met that very vague set of qualities...
You don't think W. had those?
So in other words, she has no accomplishments.
I'm a Republican but that just isn't fair or honest.
-Earned a Juris Doctorate degree from an Ivy League University.
-Was a top campaign adviser that led to election victories in US Gubernatorial and Presidential elections.
-Served as an unofficial US Ambassador. The most traveled First Lady of the United States history representing the United States on numerous diplomatic missions. (BTW: I think First Ladies are by virtue of their roles US Ambassadors and should be paid for the job. She did it for free).
- Served as an unofficial domestic policy adviser to the President of the United States.
-Two term United States Senator.
-Candidate for President of the United States of America winning votes of either party than any other candidate for President in the 2008 primary election (Barrack Obama won the DNC nomination because Michigan was disqualified due to moving its primary election date and Florida's delegation was only counted at 50%).
- Secretary of State of the United States of America.
- Served on the National Security Council during the raid on Abbottabad, Pakistan that killed Al Qaeda founder, Osama Bin Laden.
- Best selling author.
Let me rephrase the question, I know what she has done, but what has she actually accomplished. What successes during those offices? What makes people think she will be a good President. I'm not looking for a Resume' I'm looking for the substance that goes with that Resume.
I keep seeing the talk about her running, and I see her track record of failures after failure, and I really don't know why she's such a big deal. Personally I think her ideas (her previous ones and any new cockamamie hair-brained scheme's she can come up with now) would be our ruin. What say you??
W. was a governor....
By all of the accounts I've seen, she did a good job as Secretary of State. She was also a US senator for 2 terms. What more do you want?
It's not transitive. The best presidents were governors, but not all governors were great presidents. Trust me, I didn't have GWB in mind.
Reagan was a governor. Nixon was a governor. Clinton was a governor. All great presidents. Carter and Dubya are exceptions to the rule.
Thanks for elaborating, I was actually wondering which governors you thought were good presidents. While I Do not agree with all of the presidents you said were good, I do think gubernatorial experience is a good thing for a candidate to have. Its experience in the executive position and such. I just don't think it has churned out as many good presidents as you do.
I think much if not most of the good and bad that happens on a president's watch is more a factor of he happened to be there when it happened as opposed to causing it to happen. I don't think George HW Bush is fully responsible for the emancipation of the communist eastern block. I don't think Bill Clinton is fully responsible for the economic prosperity and technology boom of the 1990s. I don't think George W Bush is fully responsible for 9/11 or Hurricane Katrina. I don't think Barrack Obama is fully responsible for the high unemployment rate, lower wages and fewer benefits for those who can get jobs.
It is just you
no, it isn't just you. every other partisan Republican feels the same way. and every partisan Democrat thinks that Republican candidate X will cause us to divide by zero, sucking everything that is good and right in the world into the black hole of oblivion.
my opinion is that i thought she was a decent SoS, but i'm pretty meh about her candidacy.
i'm really meh about even thinking about 2016 at this point. 2012 burned me out enough that i don't even really like elections anymore.
Seems like a pretty typical politician to me.
She wouldn't be our "downfall" any more than any other recent major politicians have been. But she probably wouldn't improve things either.
I think you're being rather dramatic. I simply find Hillary to be unremarkable, in terms of what she is likely to do for the country.
I don't know why you all are discussing Hillary. We still have almost 3 more years of Obama. I think that is where your concerns should lie. He has made it perfectly clear he has no intentions of reigning in spending. He refuses to operate within a budget. The debt is so damn scary now, that our children's children have a future of enslavement to pay it off. It's obvious the abuse of government powers that are occurring under his so called leadership. If I were you I'd be more concerned with what might take place this midterm election and if the left gains the House Obama will have free sailing in implementing all that "Change" and after that a Hillary Clinton as madam president isn't going to matter.
