There is no question that if we left before the Iraqis were ready to handle their own security that thousands of innocent Iraqis would die.......
And there's no question that if we had NEVER invaded Iraq during the period from March 2003 until today 100,000+ Iraqis would not have been killed nor would 2600+American soldiers.

Ergo your point about "innocent" Iraqis is moot and not a true reflection of the consequences of Bush's and YOUR conclusion Navy Pride. Based on what you've previously committed to Navy Pride the truth is that YOU have the blood of more than 100,000 Iraqis on YOUR hands...so how hypocritical is it to now talk about "innocent Iraqis?

Its sad that people die in wars......I volunteered to serve in the military and served in combat in Nam...I could have died.....You know the old expression hips War is Hell and some things are worth fighting and dying for......................

I don't know if you ever served in the military but I can tell you that is how the majority of military people feel whether it be Nam or Iraq...........

What was your position and duty? What exactly was your combat mission?

Hmm, you call Gore a liberal and 51% voted for him; you call Kerry a liberal and 48% voted for him. Maybe you'd better check the accuracy of your sources.

They said 20% of the country, not 20% of all voters.

Mean, lean, Storekeeping machine......:rofl

Yeah, I admit I've gotten cynical. That happens when I get fed too much bullshit.

No one told you to EAT it, did they?

Interesting how that many moderates voted for the liberals in the last two elections.

Not enough for them to win, apparently. The moderates control the destiny of an election now, and with the democrats rolls diminishing, they need the moderates, as they no longer hold an advantage in numbers. They(dems) are jumping off a sinking ship, it seems.

Could be. Sinking ship is an apt analogy.

Never mind that 51% didn't vote for Gore.

That's very true. Gore only amassed 48.4% of the popular vote in 2000 compared to Mr. Bush's 47.9%. In short, over a half million more Americans voted for Gore than they did Bush.

But our nation goes on the electorate college concept rather than the "majority rules" concept. Candidates know this going in. It could very easily have been the other way around. (Of course, it NEVER hurts having your brother as governor in the deciding state. ;) All'z fair in love and politics.

Gore lost. Pure and simple. What's done is done. Move on America.

What's interesting is that the liberal left forgets that ~57% of the nation did not vote for Clinton in 1992. If what the majority wants is relevant, then Clinton should not have taken office.

Hell, if Gore could have won his HOME state, Tennessee, Florida would have been a moot point. Even Mondale won his home state when he got waxed by Reagan in 1984, and he could have been the worst politician in my 38 years...

Methinks your beard will be long and gray before you get an answer on that one.

'Cut and Run'

NP has already told us what he done in the Navy. He was a Storekeeper.

There is no dishonor in that. It takes all kinds of skills to run a war machine.

Often though, your rate doesn't always mean that is your job. For example, I was an FC (Fire Control.) I was trained on the C.I.W.S. (or Phalynx) as well as the Tomahawk missle. But I spent many months as BMS (Building Maintenance Specialist) and my last 18 months pushing booters at GLRTC. Absolutely NOTHING to do with Firecontrol. On my ship, (Saratoga) I also completed my ESWAS (Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist) which gave us the basic knowlege, simply put, to work everything that had to do with the ship. We also had the Epics Program which trained us in other rates as well.

In short, just because NP was a "Storekeeper" and that sounds a little pansy to some, does not mean that he didn't see combat just the same. Who knows? Maybe he slapped Charlie with his purse? But I certainly understand your scepticism, given his post history. In fact, if NP actually did see combat, that might explain a lot. I wouldn't bet on it either way. (Unless I absolutely had to. Then I would bet it's his typical BS he feeds us here on a daily basis. But I digress.)

No dishonor at all and normaly I wouldn't have said anything at all to anyone else, but, he says he supports the troops, but constantly runs down any military who disagrees with him (i.e. Caine, who just returned from Iraq and is now a police officer)

I was stationed at two different bases in Thailand during the Vietnam War. At Korat we had F-4s and F-105s. At Utapao we had B-52s, KC-135s, a U2 and a SR-71 (which was highly classified at the time). I know we were important and the folks on the ground in Vietnam certainly appreciated our efforts, but I would never, ever claim 'I WAS IN COMBAT'. But that's just me. ;)

But we did Invade Iraq and the Senate including most of the Liberals authorized the invasion.........Were there now..........That is the point....Why can't you get that through your "Bush Hating" head???????????

I will tell you..........I served 33 months in and off the coast of Viet Nam........13 months at Cam Rahn Bay as and advisor to the Republic os South Viet Nam Navy.........I lost 6 friends during that tour...........I could care less if you don't believe me but you can check it out by writing a letter to Roger Staubach.....He was a LTJG and was my division officer.........We use to throw the football around on Sunday afternoon (that was the only time we had off) Just ask him about Scrap Iron..He will tell you...........

I also made two deployments to the South China Seas in Yankee and Dixie Station aboard the USS SACRAMENTO (AOE-1)......I was paid hostile fire pay for all 33 months.............

On my last deployment I came back to the states and had people of your thinking standing outside the gate calling us baby killers and war criminals and spitting on us backing the likes of your heroes Kerry and Fonda.......

No true Viet Nam vet will ever forget what the likes of your kind did to us.......

Now what was yours?

Never mind I don't give a **** what you did...........

Bush was a terrible candidate............He was there to be had in 2004 but he increased his margin of winning in every state he won.......Democrats have no clue............Even now they should win easily in 2006 but they won't.......You have no plan, no clue...all your party can do is criticize Bush....Well I have a clue for you...he already beat your *** twice...he ain't running again.............Its McCain's turn to kick your butts in 2008..............

Great point my friend.........It almost unheard of that a candidate does not win his home state..........We would have never heard of Florida if he had won there..........

Now can all you liberals get back on the topic of this stupid poll.......Thanks

combat
a fight or contest between individuals or groups
active fighting in a war

Hostile fire pay does not equal 'combat'
When we flew to Thailand we had to fly over Vietnam. Guess what, that entitled us all to hostile fire pay and income tax free pay FOR THE WHOLE MONTH. Never set foot in Vietnam. Same coming back. I had a buddy who served on an ship off the coast of Vietnam. He saw the coast of Vietnam once, when they had to move in closer so Bob Hope didn't have to helicopter so far out to sea....LOL. He received hostile fire pay for his whole deployment. :fyi:

I don't have to defend my service to you or any other Kerry or Fonda lover.........Lets get back on topic instead of just attacking people that disagree with you to provide a smokescreen.....I only know I make and annual trip to the Vietnam Memorial every year to honor my 6 friends whose names are on that wall...........I don't have to defend myself to anyone like you........
