What is the logic in that?
Whatever happened to "the tyranny of the majority?"
Whatever happened to "the tyranny of the majority?"
It's politics and there are rules and then there are rules. Both sides are always quilty of manipulating the rules. They follow them when it's to their advantage and they ignore them when not. Currently the democrats are just abusing the American people because they want to change things that were included in the BBB and restore massive spending on their special projects. Adding $1.5 trillion is not good stewardship of taxpayer funds. WE are not going to get a handle on spending until the Congress votes in a balanced budget amendment. Every American has some sort of budget, every business has a budget, but Congress just spends, spends, spends and much of it is a waste of taxpayer dollars. So, pass a balanced budget amendment. What is the logic in that?

Right now the democrats are trying to shift blame for a government shutdown to the republicans. The simple truth is republicans voted to pass the CR to keep the government open so the Congress can continue to do business. Unfortunately all but a few democrats voted against the CR that would keep government open and paychecks and services flowing. The reason being they lost the election, they lost power, they lost funding for some of their partisan projects and the only thing they know to do is obstruct the business of goverment and the lives of American taxpayers. Don't forget the party holding up government, and keeping government closed is the party that told us all that Trump Russia Collusion was a real thing, that Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation, that the Steele Dossier was evidence in a crime, and crime is not a problem in America. How can you believe when they say they are working for Americans?

Whatever happened to "the tyranny of the majority?"
No, no , no!
It's a fact many people on the left have criticized Republicans for not eliminating the filibuster to reopen the government.
It's a fact that the left blames the Republicans for the shutdown because they chose to keep the filibuster in place.
How does this answer the question in the thread title?
Do you support keeping the filibuster? You are the left I referenced in my post.
The left are hypocrites,
What is the logic in that?
Whatever happened to "the tyranny of the majority?"
Do you support keeping the filibuster?
So this shutdown is just business as usual, your government working the way it's been designed to work.As it currently stands and is used, yes.

No one should support the filibuster rule, regardless of party. What is the logic in that?
Whatever happened to "the tyranny of the majority?"
Why? The history doesn't matter if you support it "as it currently stands".Look up the history of the filibuster.
Can't be arsed.
As it currently stands and is used, yes.
The Democrats are using the filibuster to recover what they lost through the normal legislative process, specifically the COVID-era ACA subsidy.
They are holding the government hostage.
Not sure if that is hypocritical but Republicans bitching that Democrats shut down the government to rollback parts of the OBBB they don't like, when Republicans shut down the government to rollback ACA they didn't like, most certainly is.What is the logic in that?

It's irrelevant anyway. You support the filibuster. Means this shutdown is just government operating the way you think it should.
Yes
AND no.![]()

What is the name of this fantasy world in which you reside? It's a fact many people on the left have criticized Republicans for not eliminating the filibuster to reopen the government.
You have a bizarre definition of "fact."It's a fact that the left blames the Republicans for the shutdown because they chose to keep the filibuster in place.
No I'm not. Not at all.Wrong.
You're confused.
And you've said you support it.This is "how" it works.
