Is it a lie to say you are a christian and support the Bush administration?

Maybe I am wrong, but aren't Christians pacifists? So how can a pacifist support an administration that has gone to war twice.

Maybe I am just confused on what Christian war stances are. Could a Christian please clear this up- are you pacifists or what?

I certainly think one of Christ's most powerful messages was that we should strive to be peaceful. He taught us to love our enemies, and turn the other cheek. Look up the passage on my signature [Matthew 5:9] at biblegateway.com.

However, most (though certainly not all) of my conservative "Christian" friends I find are slobbering for war in the ME.

I really don't get it.

No all Christians are not pacifists........I would say very few are.........I know I am not......

I thought the vote in Congress was almost unanimous to go to war in Afghanistan and overwhelming in Iraq......Can you clear that up for me?

I never understood how Christians could be warmongers when their Lord said things like:

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.

But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brotherwill be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,[c]' is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[h] and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

That's just one chapter of Matthew.

As you have been told many, many times, there was no vote go to war but to authorize the Bush to use military force if it was necessary to protect the country from danger and enforce UN sanctions.

Bush (and his administration) was the one who decided to go to war.

Unfortunately unlike Jesus we are imperfect human beings and sometimes war is justified........

Bush (and his administration) was the one who decided to go to war.

The Congress knew exactly what they were authorizing in their vote..........Hell your hero "Slick Willie" called for regime change in 1998........How the hell do you expect that to be accomplished? Checkers or Tiddly winks?

I'm not even religious, more agnostic than anything, but what correlation does your little diatribe have with MODERN day Christians?

When was the last time these things occurred?

Yeah what does the history of a cult have to do with anything?

You reckon Jesus didn't realize that when he instructed us how we should live and behave, eh?

Navy and teacher, hand in hand against the monsters...

Let the Christian bashing by the left begin..... So very sad and small..

Yea, I don't see what the author was trying to prove here other than he wants us to know he has an agenda or is just not too damn bright.

I'm Christian, I support CICoW.boy. I'm not lying. The whole thing is instantly moot. It's as stupid as my "And now for something completely different" poll, which has a point, unlike this.

Just come out and say you hate Christians or Bush supporters and I'll at least respect your honesty. This way I just scoff at your stupidity and weak skills on this forum.

"Let he who without sin cast the first stone." Would that be you Iriemon?

No, you are the one promoting war and explaining that what Jesus says doesn't matter because we're imperfect human and He couldn't possibly have understood that.
