Is Islam protected by the Constitution?

“The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.”
—John Adams

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

He is wrong.

That was my point but it flew way over his head.

The poster in question has a habit of desperately trying to block out any information which goes against his prejudices. So wfar, it seems that he thinks Jim Crow was a-ok and that freedom of religion only applies to Protestants.

All of the debates were centered around the Protestant religion and the way the term "religion" was used, it was synonymous with the Protestant religion.

You have not mentioned any primary source evidence to support your claim, and you have hijacked the discussion from Article VI's no religious test clause, which you failed to address.

I had moved on to Article III's treason clause that was based directly on the Bible and you have avoided that.

As usual, you are wrong. Just like your desperate defense of Jim Crow, you desperately flail about, ignoring the literal words used in the constitution and the explicit statements of the founders.

Freedom of religion applies to all religions, not just Protestantism.

Speaking of treason, Benedict Arnold explicitly stated that the legislative tolerance of Catholics was part of his motive for committing treason in the first place.

Prove it. You are factually incorrect. The constitution NEVER mentions Protestants....did they just forget? LOL

Are you even capable of arguing without copy-pasting the same line of bull**** over and over again?

Freedom of religion applies to all religions, not just Protestantism. You clearly don't like that; guess you'll just have to get over it.

You can also explain why the practice of Catholic discrimination did not end until 1961 and why Congress tried seven times in the 1870s to pass a thirteenth amendment to further discriminate against Catholics.

You continue to repeat the fantasy that "religion" equates to Protestantism, rather than all religions.....without a shred of evidence.

Again, because people in this country were bigoted against Catholics, due in large part to nativist hatred.....just like they have been racist towards African Americans.

Your argument that because racism and bigotry exist that means that racism and bigotry are enshrined in the Constitution is a laughable joke

You are still incorrect.....just as you were the other half a dozen times you posted that drivel.

Your bigotry is not enshrined in the constitution. The sooner you figure that out, the sooner you can start living in the real world.

The topic of this discussion is whether or not Islam is protected by the Constitution.

Muslims do not like our way of life and come here to change our way of life into their way of life. They do not respect our laws and the Qur'an and Sunnah does not teach muslims to respect the laws of the kafir. They come here to murder us which is why this topic should lead to some very interesting discussion.

I will quote from the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Tafsir (the interpretation of the Qur'an) to make my case that Islam is sedition to the Constitution.

Yes, it is.

Firstly, you're wrong about Muslims.

Most Muslims are people just like people all over the world - they just want to live their life in peace.
Most Muslims absolutely like our way of life, come here to join it, and respect our laws.
Almost no Muslims "come here to murder us", that's just ridiculous.

Secondly, even if all of the above was true, Islam would STILL be protected by the Constitution - the acts which follow your claims might not be, especially the murdering part - but that's not the same as the religion itself not being protected.

Essentially, it doesn't matter what someone believes, so long as their actions as a result do not violate the law.
For example, if someone believed in some ancient Aztec religion, and wanted to perform human sacrifice.
Not allowed, you can't do that.
But you can still believe it's the way to go.
