is elon musk offering money for votes illegal?

It almost certainly is illegal. For now, I encourage all Harris supporters, Dems and Republicans alike, to sign up. Then vote for Harris anyway,

Its weird he says hes giving 1 million everyday until election yet it says you gotta sign by the 21st so you wouldnt win anyway with all the people doing it its just a trick.

Buying votes, or attempting to, truly arguable, but it is an attempt at buying loyalty, which, seriously, makes nothing of the loyalty.

Whether its votes or a petition you know which candidate he supports and how do you know he wont offer money for that too?

Its just a shame money has to even be a incentive whether its legal or not they just want people looking for cash not caring what the petition is about.

Musk's petition is specifically for supporting the First and Second Amendments. The people who sign it know exactly what the petition is about.

In developing countries, politicians offer free beer to voters. They're not buying votes technically. They're buying people beer. That's illegal in the U.S. How is this different?
