But it does matter to most jobs.

And choosing a President is nothing like choosing a heart surgeon. You have plenty of time to actually look into the decency of your choice for President.

However, one must also note that a person could be a decent heart surgeon but still be fired from their job if they were not a decent person in other areas since most heart surgeons are employed by hospitals or other medical companies, not directly by their patients.

Not my analogy but I understood the point. That’s a successful analogy if someone, not everyone, gets it.
Its not though. A surgeon could absolutely fail at his job or be fired/not hired for not being a decent person. In most cases, a person does not choose their heart surgeon at all. The hospital they go to does. So you arent making the choice, the hospital is (in most cases).

If you are making the choice, but don't take into account a doctors history, of bedside manner, malpractice, etc, then it is no different than ignoring everything else about either candidate for President and basing your choice off of how they look or their name or what letter is beside their name.

His reality TV show was a big winner. You want to ignore that because you didn't watch it?
So a lot of people like to watch other people get yelled at and fired and that is good?

I never watched a single episode because I thought the premise was silly.
And the guy running it was really a frustrated carnival barker.
Who knew enough people would vote him in so he could drain the Washington DC swamp.
By hiring people he has to then fire because they are scum. He hasn't drained much (not that draining a swamp is actually a good thing anyway) and what he did drain he filled with sewage.

For the record, I never voted that Trump is a decent man.
My position is that a president does not need to be a decent man in order to lead the country.
Personally, I believe that Trump can behave like a real ***hole and not care about other people.
If you dont care about other people, you are not going to be a decent President, a decent leader. You are closer to a dictator.

You have not one shread of evidence against your accusation here of Biden but there is plenty of evidence, video evidence that Trump mocked a disabled reporter. You deflected and tried to make a charge against another person's decency on nothing but a baseless accusation.

More lies?
Are you claiming he didnt suggest that troops at the border should shoot border crossers in the leg?

Donald Trump 'suggested shooting migrants in the legs' - BBC News

Trump asked about shooting migrants at border in legs if they threw rocks at agents, reportedly wanted a '''trench with deadly reptiles''' | Fox News

Or his actual statement that rocks are not much different than guns so soldiers should shoot them?

Donald Trump suggests migrants could be shot for throwing rocks

And we dont know the troop levels in other countries for most of Trumps presidency because his administration didn't publish them like the past two.

Trump has no issue sending our own troops to war, as long as it suits him.

Trump is a decent man compared to others in Washington. Washington is a town full of sleazes and scum bags, which is why Trump wanted to drain the swamp. There are too many lawyers, lobbyist and con artists that one needs to judge people in Washington, by their actions and not by their fake words. Is Schiff a sleaze for promising and lying about proof of collusion for two years and never producing? Is that a decent man? Can we use him as a baseline for decency?

Trump accomplished all the things he promised, even with the Swamp Democrats sabotaging and resisting. Action is what descent men do. They are willing to get in the mud and even get dirty, so they can be a man of action, for those who depend on him. Words mean nothing if you cannot produce what you promise. Words is how used car salesmen operate. Action is for honest and decent people.

Trump took on the Swamp, who attacked first; spying, and beat them at the own shady games. Is the swamp composed of any decent people? Let us compare and contrast Trump with members of the Swamp to get a larger baseline for decency. Has anyone in the swamp thought of asking if Biden was a decent man? Do decent people get to use a dual standard to cover their treachery and mistakes? Is Pelosi decent, when it comes to her hypocrisy and the dual standards she applies. How do you tell decent people, when there is a dual standard?

Is Pelosi a decent person if her actions do not correspond to her words? That old prune has been medically stretched to a fake smile, so she can back stab and lie, all covered by the dual standard. Trump is more than decent in comparison, since he learns, grows and then dominates the two faced indecent.

Maybe someone can do a poll, where we list all the sleaziest Democrats of 2020, and then have each person list them in the order of sleaze. Who will win sleaze of the last four years? Biden is not at the top of the list, but also not at the bottom. The wise can judge the two faced, by a single face criteria and create the order of sleaze. Almost decent will be at the bottom of that list. Then Trump.

Didn't Biden say many times that his wife and kid were killed by a drunk driver?

Has there been any need for a war?

North Korea has been a bit dodgy but not massively more than normal and only the most crazy of crazy fool would start a war against China and as much as I dislike Trump I doubt even he's going there.
Apart from just starting a war for the hell of it I'm honestly not sure there's been a need.
This is just an honest question so I'm not having a go at you or anything so do you agree with my assessment or have I missed something which is more than possible.

Do you understand there is a difference between not having an issue to send them to war (which anyone who honestly recognizes Trump for who he is can see that Trump absolutely would send them to war for his causes if it were to suit him) and simply not having a reason at this time to do so?

And how much has he decreased troops in places like Iraq and Afghanistan since he took office?

Personally, I want troops fighting for others, for us to be the people that stand up to those who abuse other people, to those who would kill them simply because. I want it done intelligently and with restraint but have no issue with standing up for "the little guy" particularly if we made an agreement to do so.

Problem is, YOU think they are slinging mud for no good reason. But it's not just far-right libtards who are speaking out... I'm talking about life-long Republicans who are truly ashamed of him.

You, Jay Patriot, are wearing orange-coloured glasses.

Because this thread is about Trumps level of decency, not Bidens. That was wrong of him. It is not a decent comment/claim and he deserves decency points subtracted. If we compare Biden on a decency point line with Trump though, Biden would easily come out far ahead.

It is not decent for the President to tell a widow her husband knew what he signed up for. It is not decent for the President to make a comment towards a gold star family suggesting the mother of a dead soldier wasnt allowed to speak. It is not decent for the President to cover up his mistakes with lies and petulant behavior. It is not decent to say you will give money to charities that an event is specifically said to be for and then keep that money or most of it for yourself. It is not decent to cut off peoples water because you dont like things they are saying about you, won't sell your property to them. It is not decent to try to use your office to enrich yourself, your finances. It is not decent to call Americans traitors who simply don't approve of you or talk bad about you.

There are thousands of things that I can list that Trump has done that aren't decent (publicly). Compared to the dozens, maybe hundreds that Biden has done, it is no contest who is more decent as a person.

Biden is the more decent person.

As he was in 2018. Howd that go for him?

That isnt a huge accomplishment when you look at the qualifications for such a nomination.

And he has tried to start one or two, just didn't accomplish it. He knows better than to fire the first shot and that even firing second on petty things would hurt his campaign.

Projections don't make for a sound argument.

Stop projecting.

Your slammed full of 1/2 truths.
According to you.

There are plenty of analysts who can show that not starting a new "war" is not really an accomplishment and doesn't mean he wouldn't start one if the opportunity arose.

He is reckless. He doesn't really care about anyone but himself. There is no lie in those comments. He has shown the truth in both of these facts.

Trump makes Charlie Manson look like a saint

First, you do realize that I was speaking for myself? How you look at things is your choice. I suppose the question could be approached by examining the sum of a person’s life. How many times have they done good things or bad. Add them up and go from there. But even then how one person defines good or bad actions can vary. A habitual liar won’t find anything wrong about lying. A thief won’t find anything wrong with stealing. A saint only looks at someone like themselves as a saint. I’ll leave it here for I think I may be wasting my time explaining to you how I look at stuff.

Actually, just because you are a habitual liar doesnt mean you won't find anything wrong about lying. There are people who steal but still see it as wrong, whether for themselves, others, or both. The same can be said about good qualities/actions too. Reasons behind doing things matter. While we cannot read another person's mind, their other actions, especially public actions and comments can be used to make determinations about their intent. Just like if someone insists for others to look at all the good they do, you may want to question their reasons for doing it. If someone steals something, what was it, why did they do it? If someone lies, again what was the lie and what was its purpose? (The movie "The Invention of Lying" gets into this.)
