Your outlook seems fatalistic. What does it matter? When people are hired or fired not based on character or ability but by "identity" we are saying we value symbolism over achievement. Im guessing that does not matter to you, but it does to me.

Dogma isn't good enough.

Na. It`s because I would like to spread the genepool and not end up ****ing my relatives.

Other than that, do you think one can list achievements based on race and ethnicity?!

So you think the dichotomy is diversity or incest? Is that big in Germany?

So you think the dichotomy is diversity or incest?

Na. It`s between being a hole closed to the rest of the world. And being open and willing to learn.

But yeah, incest kind of occurs mainly in the closed regions.

Is that big in Germany?

No not realy, we have significant slavic and Turkish minorities and are a pluralistic society.

Whats it like in the failed confederacy?

What company hires on "character or ability"? Show me that company. It doesn't exist. Every company I've worked at, one top 25, hired based on perceived "identity" in the interview. I know because I lied in my interview and got the job at a top 25 US bank.

Your fantastical idea that any company on earth is any less corrupt in their hiring practices is simply wishful thinking. Humans hire based on emotion. Companies are run by humans. Met plenty of people who were hired simply because they knew so and so. Companies hiring practices are no less corrupt than any other organization in the public sector.

You people need to get over this fantasy "purity" of companies. It doesn't exist.

Which is why I replied with the following.
Pretty much irrelevant and does not supersede qualifications.
It was irrelevant.
I'm not saying diversity supersedes qualifications but that doesn't automatically render it irrelevant. There are loads of thing beyond measurable skills, knowledge and qualifications which will influence the quality of an individual's work and indeed the work of their colleagues, for good or bad. How those factors are able to practically, are permitted to legally or should morally affect hiring decisions is a whole different matter.

Consequences? That is offensive as it implies something that is not there.
The only thing needed for that discussion is qualifications.
If employment decisions were only about qualifications, we wouldn't have job interviews. There is a huge factor of personal preference and opinion that goes in to most hiring decisions that is pretty much unavoidable. That's why this is such a difficult area to deal with in the first place.

Clearly I know what liberal means. I've been liberal all my life
Is that what you think I meant by what I said?
iLOL
Figures. Typical flawed liberal logic.

and I know that liberals have always represented the rights of ordinary people and resisted authority and conservatives have always lined up and supported authority unless they bailed when it looked like a losing proposition.
Spin.

Yeah. It pretty much does.

Unless needed, it is irrelevant.

I live in California but like the south. Of course even a bunch of southerers seemed to enjoy defeating your "enlightened" nation just 2 generations back in WW2. Im sure you remember.

Ive been hired and promoted based on merit. Im sorry things didn't turn out so well for you. Pity that you'd lie to get ahead like that.

My income is fine.

I'd question your boasting seeing as you consistently have demonstrated you cannot use proper grammar.. The idea that you are being promoted with such grammar raises questions as to where.. McDonald fast food?

I still am getting used to the fact that on this forum there are high post count users that command respect whom are adults whom cannot use proper grammar yet will insult and make employment claims using middle school grammar.

Definitely not on a European Progressive forum. Definitely not. Heh.. US forum users definitely have their own little world that's for sure..

What does this have to do with racial/ethnic diversity? It's got nothing to do with it unless you know jack **** about genetic science and then assume that just people people are of a certain ethnic group they're all the same and there is no genetic variation. There is plenty of genetic variation within one ethnic group and it constantly refines and modifies itself. It's also plastic to the environment.

Diversity brings a greater understanding within an organization for the market or theater of operations it is hoping to influence or sell. If I want to do business with the Chinese, or for that matter, to an even greater number of people in America, I need to think about who I want to buy what I am selling. If have a Valedictorian from Harvard that is white, from Boston, and is well connected, you better believe I will take that kid that is Asian American, only has a 3.0 grade point average, wants this job badly, and speaks Chinese if that is where I need help. If it is in America, I will be hiring those that are hungry, not priviledged, and with colors and sex that match our national market spectrum. That more than makes up for a few grade point averages.

I never said a word about your income. I also dont care about a euro lib forum.

I can't believe a German would think like that.

So the southerners won WW2????

You just might have stepped over the line a bit here. Germany is possibly the least racially diverse country I've ever been to. It's about 95% white German and if you look around in a lot of places like Bayern you could count on one hand how many non-whites you see at a massive fest.

America is a cultural melting pot. You could take just about any American company and it will almost certainly be more racially diverse than most German ones. The thing that people are arguing about here is how diversity is implemented. As of now, companies are pressured, either externally or internally to hire minorities simply to hire minorities. They will hire less qualified people to be diverse simply because they have the right color of skin. That may be something you like, but that is NOT how it is done in Germany and that is what we oppose.

So stop implying that the entire south is racist. Have you ever even actually been there?

So the southerners won WW2????

Among others, yes.
