Elon Musk has suggested to create a new party that accommodates the middle 80% of the population.
Question as is. Elon Musk has suggested to create a new party that accommodates the middle 80% of the population.
What do you think about this? On the surface it sounds like a no-brainer for a nation that is politically divided as much as it is. But things are probably a little more complicated than that.

Fifty-four percent of Americans identify as part of the middle class, including 39% who say they are “middle class” and 15% “upper-middle class.” Another 31% consider themselves “working class” and 12% “lower class.” Just 2% of U.S. adults characterize themselves as “upper class.”

What accommodates the middle 80%?
Are not most US citizens moderate decent people or seek honest government? So it seems to me - but I'm a long way away. What accommodates the middle 80%?
I've been calling for a "Centrist" party for over a decade.
But as to Musk's 80%? As long as he can take 5% from the GOP, that's good enough!
The 2024 ballot provided me with 6 choices, basically giving me the choice of the Democrat candidate, the Republican candidate, or showing I cannot support the candidate who wins.Question as is. Elon Musk has suggested to create a new party that accommodates the middle 80% of the population.

I do not believe you would stick needles in your eyes. I always find asterisks unconvincing. The Elon Musk Party?
I'd rather stick needles in my eyes.
And yeah, since Elon is the one suggesting it that IS what it would be, the Elon Musk Party.
No ****ing way in Hell.
Sorry but I'd like to know what you and other hopefuls think an Elon Musk third party would do for America.
Strangler! Long time!
Musk would siphon-off some GOP votes from Trump/MAGA.

Hi,
I should have seen that coming and included this in the answers. My failure. But what if Elon has nothing to do with this, but someone else picks up on the idea and does exactly this?

My enemy's enemy is my friend. So I hope Musk has some success.Strangler! Long time!

My problem with this is that Elon Musk is in no way part of "the middle." He has not only supported extremism in the US, but also European extremists and parties with roots in Nazism. The further to the right they are, the more likely they are to receive funding from Musk. I think this is just jealousy on Musk’s part. He wants to be Trump so in his world, "the middle 80%" means a party with himself as the leader and 80% of the voters behind him.Question as is.
