Is america going forward or back

My word are you full of BS. The country only spends $100 billion of education? California alone spends well over $55 billion on K-12, along with community colleges.

Governor's Budget for 2013-14 - Letters (CA Dept of Education)

I'm talking about the federal government. You know....the same one who invaded Iraq and tied up over a trillion dollars, 4500 young American lives and 35,000 seriously wounded over there. Put your **** together then get back to me.

Did you not write this:

"This country has been spending over a trillion dollars for an unnecessary war to accomodate the military/industrial complex while it spent 100 billion on education...one trillion equals 1000 billion."

LOL.

Progressive are so predictable. Perfecting the art of self marginalization.

Yeah....I'm talking about the U S federal government. Property taxes all the way down to individual cities and counties are what pays for 90% of education. Like I said....get your **** together. The Republicans are always bitching and moaning about how much money we've wasted on education and the federal government covers less than 10% of the total.

When we're at war they cover every last goddam cent of it.

What's with the "get your ****" together crap?

Your post is full of complete lies. Perhaps they sell to other members of your cell, but the average person is walking by.

And I'm walking chief.

Well, according to President G.W.Bush the reason for all that money spent in Iraq, not a smoking gun, not WMDS, not a mushroom cloud simply "BAD INTELLIGENCE"

According to the chain of command all intelligence must be confirmed before acted upon.
So who is the top at the chain of command?:peace

I present facts....you on the other hand have been watching too much Fox!

You mean something like the manufacturing jobs of Michigan , but they are portable to many nations.

Cut the jive, any business or job can be moved, corporations have proven that time after time.:peace

many service sector jobs can't be (e.g. hotels, restaurants), which explains why that's the sector where we've seen the greatest job growth ...

Your meme has grown old and tired. Return to base for new instructions.

My instructions came from 30 years of voting for Republicans, Eisenhower, Goldwater, Nixon three times and yes....even the asshole Reagan once. Under Republican Voodoo economics this nation has gone from one where the total wealth was shared to one where the upper 1% gets it all. Keep it up!! The Right has lost the popular vote five of the last six presidential elections and I feel sure there's more to come. Romney won two demographics.....White men and folks over 65. Since Whites will be a minority in America in the not too distant future and folks over sixty five are dying 100 times faster than those under thirty........Katy.....Bar The Door!!

Yes, I know, you've been posting your CV on blogs for quite some time.

Your meme is old and tired. I know it's important to you, but that doesn't change anything.

Well the other nations always like to spend cheap from time to time

You're praying that a lot of tourist will show up, just like a bum begging and hoping that the next strangers in a good mood and give money.
I see little difference. In Michigan you get paid by what you can do , not if the tourist were coming or not.

You can take it or leave it but more cut backs are coming so watch your back.:peace

You just admitted that you don't know the difference between charity and commerce.

Wow dude....seriously.

If you voted for Eisenhower, Goldwater, and Nixon in the past thirty years, then you must have a problem with anachronism.

[h=1]This week in history: Brown v. Board of education[/h][h=2]On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court delivered a unanimous ruling on the landmark case of Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, ending racial segregation in public facilities. This week marks the 59th anniversary of the ruling.

First integrated classroom In July 1955, six black children completed their first week at Griffin Elementary, a one-room schoolhouse in rural Monticello, Ky. It was the first public school in the state, and by some accounts the nation, to become racially integrated. (AP Photo

In the late 50's and early 60's a lot of Americans wanted to be more United in fact some marched and protested "as did I" against the division of America .
A majority of Americans black and white did not want their society to be divided they did not want segregation for America and it's people,
Most wanted equal rights equal opportunity for all Americans.

A chance to at least get your chance at climbing the ladder of success, the American Dream if you will.
Most only got a comfortable affordable life nothing fancy but paying taxes and paying bills and buying stuff.
No mansions no fancy new cars, no suits and ties just a place to live a 5 or 10 yr old sedan. Bought food at the local grocery store

Today for the most it's subsidiesed housing, public transportation, get your clothes at Walmart or Salvation Army, and food stamps
Now some people may say they should pay their own way
However when the people ask; ok where's the jobs, they get this speech about economics , or in the long run or moving forward, or America's economy is strong

However in America today it seems we are back on the same track America was in the days of segregation.

There is no white schools and black schools anymore.
Now it's I got money you don't Equal rights are divided once more over gays getting married or legalizing marijuana some states do some states don't.

Equal opportunity is out there at Walmarts and fast food joints gas stations and truck drivers.
Manufacturing is pretty much gone, electronics is pretty much gone ,assembly work is pretty much gone ,computer assembly is pretty much gone computer techs is pretty much gone
Hell even telephone marketing and customer assistence is pretty much gone.
In short pretty much all the blue collar unskilled labor is gone

What remains is debt and a lot of it from national debt, to trade deficits, to student loans, to credit card debt, to IOU'S to other countries .
:peace

The government is spending money they don't have
While the rich get tax cuts and research grants they don't need based on an economic system that has less tax revenue coming in and more bills going out
And in the middle the working poor the unemployed the poor the elderly wait for better opportunities and better days.

Wow, do you mean that the Democrats were at the forefront of desegregation that early? I guess according to the Progressive Left they dragged President Eisenhower kicking and screaming to sign the Bill that was written and passed by the majority of Republicans.

If you voted for Eisenhower, Goldwater, and Nixon in the past thirty years, then you must have a problem with anachronism.

You're the one who added "PAST" to the thirty year remark. I was a Republican when they stood for something besides the corporations and the wealthy. This is my complete voting record:

1956........Eisenhower
1960........Nixon
1964........Goldwater
1968........Nixon
1972........Nixon
1976........Did Not Vote
1980........Anderson(I)
1984........Reagan
1984-2004.......Did Not Vote
2004..........Kerry******
2008........Obama******
2012........Obama******

****** Voted Against Republcans
I'll never vote for another one if I live to 100.

Anyone who fails to see the damage done to this country by Republican tax cuts for the wealthy is either blind or naive. During my life time the only real cuts to government spending was this recent sequester activity which was political in it's nature and will do about as much good as a band-aid on a ruptured artery.

sorry, I misread your post.

That's quite a record.

a little quick math tells me that, if you were old enough to vote in '56, you're even older than me. My first vote was in '64. If I had it to do over, I would vote for Goldwater over Johnson, but at the time was afraid Goldwater would get us into a war. How's that for irony?

and I share your frustration with Republicans. The only ones that are as bad as Republicans are Democrats.

And your point is?

The intelligence was not confirmed in the military if you gather intelligence it must be confirmed before presented.
Bush did not confirm the intelligence, therefore did not fulfill his duty as a president.

To be fair both the right side and left side did not fulfill their duty according to the oath they took.:peace

many service sector jobs can't be (e.g. hotels, restaurants), which explains why that's the sector where we've seen the greatest job growth ...

Perhaps , but perhaps that's why every sate in the United States is in debt, cause they only offer service station jobs , hotel clerks and janitor work.:peace

You just admitted that you don't know the difference between charity and commerce.

Wow dude....seriously.

I know the difference between depending on others and working your own way to making a living that's enough for me, "dude":peace

How would you propose the Military could have confirmed the intelligence?

The IAEA reports available at the time stated Iraq was not meeting their agreements, not allowing access to facilities, and they could not confirm Iraq did not have WMD's.

Iraq and the UN - Global Special Weapons - Nuclear, Biological Chemical and Missile Proliferation News

Of course, when the IAEA inspectors pushed for access to facilities their inspection pointed to as being suspect, they were kicked out of the country.

These facts are all available through the link above.

I realize this goes against the presented narrative from the arm chair quarterbacks, but facts are facts, regardless of the need to ignore them.

Wow, do you mean that the Democrats were at the forefront of desegregation that early? I guess according to the Progressive Left they dragged President Eisenhower kicking and screaming to sign the Bill that was written and passed by the majority of Republicans.

You looking for a debate on political parties are ya?

Wrong poster, pal both Democrat and Republicans have made bad mistakes. but you play the blame game.

As for me I don't look at Republican, or Democrat or any other party in politics.

I look for whats RIGHT, and what's WRONG

If they Republicans do something right for ALL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE they should be praised
If the Republicans do something wrong against ALL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE they should be questioned

If the Democrats do something right for ALL the AMERICAN PEOPLE they should be praised
If the Democrats do something wrong against ALL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE they should be questioned

One can not praise one political party all the time and expect no questions, just as one can not question one political party all the time and expect praise.

One political party does not run all the government the majority is two political parties both make mistakes. there should be no free pass for any political party.:peace

In all fairness Eisenhower was the last true consevative, he was a good president, if he was running today I would vote for him.:peace

Perhaps , but perhaps that's why every sate in the United States is in debt, cause they only offer service station jobs , hotel clerks and janitor work.:peace

that's because the other jobs have been outsourced and no matter how much we drop wages here, we can't compete with workers in poor countries ... the difference in cost of living won't allow it, and we're committed to growing the gap between the rich and the poor even more ...
