Iran 'threatened Trump with sleeper-cell revenge terrorist attacks inside US' days before nuclear strikes

People: we shouldn't let terrorists into the United States.

Democrats: but other people did in the past, so we want to do so now!!!

Weird argument...
All strawman arguments are weird arguments. Try to read someone else post without straw-manning their argument and it might make more sense.

The US ****ed up with Iran long before Trump decided to bomb them. He’s just another Republican president over the last few decades that has made stupid choices in the middle east. The US Republican president to really **** up with Iran was Eisenhower. Him and that scumbag Churchill ****ed up in the 50s orchestrating a coup in Iran and installing a monarch / dictator (shah) because Iran had the audacity to nationalize their oil industry after AIOC (Anglo-Iranian Oil company, now BP) refused to cooperate with the Iranian government wanting to audit AIOC’s documents to verify that AIOC was adhering to the signed contract regarding paying the agreed upon royalties to Iran, and to limit the company's control over Iranian oil reserves.

Britain threw a shit fit and instigated a worldwide boycott of Iranian oil to pressure Iran and hurt them economcially. Then Eisenhower and Churchill decided to start a coup and the CIA did what it does best, destabilizing other countries and staging a coup.
That's very biased and selective.

In 1953 early in the very edgy new Cold War the CIA with British MI6 and the Iran military displaced the Prime Minister Mosaddeq. All three actors, CIA, MI6 and the Iran military believed Mosaddeq wanted the Western oil companies, Brits and Americans out of Iran so it could move toward the Russian Soviet Union. Mosaddeq nationalizing the oil industry meant he and his corrupt chums would take control of the big bucks the industry earned. And that they could get a better deal owning the oil industry, selling their product to the Soviet Union and by expanding relations with the USSR.

NOT.

The Royal British Navy 2nd only to the USN blockaded the export of oil from Iran -- nothing got through the British Navy blockade fleet. Mosaddeq went to Washington but came back with only his hat in hand. He stopped the 1952 vote count while he was ahead narrowly and declared victory which his weasels in the parliament accepted. (Bush v Gore.)

Mosaddeq got into a big beef with the Shah over the appointment of a new defense minister so the Shah busted him. Mosaddeq's supporters organized by the the Tudeh or communist party took to the streets and the Shah had to reappoint him PM and accept his defense minister. The parliament then voted Mosaddeq vast new powers that were dictatorial.

True to his dictator's form, Mosaddeq dissolved parliament on a referendum vote supported by the communist party. Washington feared Mosaddeq would turn to the Soviet Union for support against the UK, US and the Shah. Hence the coup.

The Shah became a strong supporter and defender of Israel. The US strengthened the Shah with copious support to include chasing away the communists who grew their support by embracing Mosaddeq. This was a successful model for the still new CIA in the Cold War, its early time especially. CIA did and spent whatever it took to dump Mosaddeq.

It's interesting to me that there are so many people on this thread that are skeptical about the report due to the fact that it originated from Trump's people.

I didn't expect that but I guess it's an expected outcome when Trump and his people are so dishonest on a continuous basis.
I agree and I was surprised for a moment, but I think your final conclusion is only one way to describe what's actually happening. People also live in their assumption bubbles around here quite a bit, too. Don't like to think outside our biases.

It's a potential moment to learn something in my opinion, but I wonder who will.

Russia actually attacks and invades Ukraine, kidnapping its people and the MAGAs cry about how helping Ukraine is going to start WWIII, a nuclear war with Russia.

Iran does the same things its been doing for decades, picking at Israel but not actually attacking them. Israel bombs Iran so Iran retaliates and now we bomb Iran but excuses come out that they might activate sleeper cells if we do that and it isn't at all an issue?

Seems like it isn't at all WWIII or nuclear war that MAGAs are really ever concerned about.
Both of these theaters are World War 3, and until you begin to grasp that, you're going to be flipping and flopping back and forth between two things that don't really exist on their own.

I am hoping with all my heart that this can be de-escalated as quickly as possible. Maybe we can avoid it really turning into the big one.

Similar here.
My best friend of 33 years is Muslim.

He’s also blonde, blue eyed, and White.
Speaks French, Arabic, and English…
And he sounds like he’s from NY when he speaks English. If you met him on the street you’d never know he was Muslim.

He honors his faith and is very “live and let live” and never forces his beliefs on anyone-

I’d rather live next to him than any of the Christian Nationalist “Americans” any day of the week.

This thread is just depressing…
WTAF is wrong with people???
In my humble opinion, the bolded text is an example of what's wrong with us.

Just about everybody feels like there's a certain group of people that it's okay to hate.

Preferring not to live next to assholes dosen't mean you hate them. Don't compare it to wanting all Muslims deported, because to do so is ridiculous.

I didn't make that comparison. I said what I thought was wrong with us is that we all have a group of people that we think it's okay to hate. That's what I said.

But I could make that comparison if I wanted.
Can we get rid of all the fundies? Please?

Question why do you think we have the right to dictate to other sovereign nations what their defense armaments should contain? Who are we to tell the Iranians who their leaders are and what policies they should have?
That's quite the feat of fiction writing you've done there.

Never doubted for a moment you can do it though.

Almost all your posts are pulp fiction.

Jefferson explicitly stated that neither "Pagan nor Mahometan nor Jew ought to be excluded from the civil rights of the commonwealth because of his religion,"

Thomas Jefferson studied the Quran.
That was before 9/11 though.

And before Iran trying to get nukes.

That doens't matter for some. The source automatically disqualifies any facts

I believe the report BTW,.
Let me help you -- Zero Hedge is a bad source. They peddle in conspiracy theories and consistently fail fact checks. Fox is a better source, particularly the web edition, but they also have issues. Remember they settled a lawsuit for $787M for perpetuating a conspiracy theory. NBC News is actually a good source. They run a traditional journalistic process that involves understanding the sources ability to know an issue, they get at least one second source of corroborate the story. The writer has to prove it all to his editor, and if its a big story, the editor has to prove it to his boss.

NBC News generally gets it right, and when they are wrong, the almost also publish a retraction. The following chart will help you with sourcing an story. If its in the green box, you will not have your sourcing challenged. If its in the red box or orange box, expect to called out. Zero Hedge is not on this chart, but its a red-orange source.

Jefferson read the Quran in part because he didn't have tv, movie houses or baseball games to go to. It's how Jefferson got rich, not having anything enjoyable to spend money on. He had slaves to entertain him. And time on his hands afterward.

Silliness. Sleeper cells are usually substantially comprised of American citizens with ethnic ties (who have become radicalized) or green card holders that flew into our airports and presented passports. They generally did not cross the Mexican border (why would they need to?). This border thing has become such a boogey-man for all of our issues that its moved from comical to pathetic. It just perpetrates ignorance.

As to having guns, well enjoy your false sense of security. Most terrorist attacks are done is such a way that have a handgun isn't going to help you. But, cool poster.

If you want to blame a political party for this, I will point out that Republicans have been meddling in the middle east for decades, enough to incite Bin Laden to attack us, then there was Iraq and Afghanistan. But, the real fault here is Trump, who capriciously ripped up the six party peace deal, ruining an agreement that was working and eradicating any trust Iran had in doing deals with us.

America is today quite secualr, yes. But it was founded on the Christian faith.

Judaism does not exist as it is supposed to by the Torah. And it will only exist in like fashion after Jesus returns.

No, the US was not founded on Christian faith. The ‘founding fathers’ were mostly deists and not Christian

Can we get rid of all the fundies? Please?
And I think this hits the nail on the head. It's the fundamentalists who practice religion(s) that are the issue. The differences between say Christianty and Islam is that the New testament exists for Christians, and no such text exists for Muslims. So it all comes down to the ACTUAL practices of each. Each has had shared problems, for Christians it was hundreds of years ago (Crusade era), Muslims shared problems like that exist today (mostly in other countries because it would not be tolerated here)

So, a representative of a foreign adversary, told a head of state it has spies and saboteurs inside his country that it will use to commit acts of terror if said state does commits a hostile act?

That's been done by done by...checks notes...nobody, ever.

It's just asking to get bombed. And giving away secrets. No country shows its hand like that.

Except when Hegseth accidentally spills it in a chat group....

I suspect the mail is taking readers for a ride.

What’s fiction about my post? Are you arguing with a straight face that Iran is not a sovereign nation?

It happens where ever Islam exists. The stage it is in, is based upon the numbers of Muslims in the country.

See ' bbc.com/news/uk-16522447 Growing Use Of Shariah By U K Muslims'. See 'express.co.uk/news/uk/134080/Now-Muslims-demand-full-Shariah-Law.

Sure and which country has actually adopted shariah law as a result?

This is great replacement theory garbage.

#Trump is faced with a conundrum.
Should he "allow" (encourage, help, assist) a terror on a city in a red state to force MAGA-GOP to fall in line or should he (secretly) guide terrorists into attacking a city in a BLUE state to punish them for disloyalty and blame "the socialists" like Obama and Biden?
Heather Digby Parton thinks a terror attack is precisely what Trump wants.
