A study group set up by the Texas state school board to update their curriculum came up the idea of calling slavery "involuntary relocation". I guess the slaves were brought here against their wills, but that is what you want your children to know about the history of slavery and racism. If I were the children in these states where you can not teach anything to make them feel uncomfortable, I would tell the state to go to hell if they think that we are so easily made to feel uncomfortable. Are we trying to bring up a bunch of weak children? This is not about our children, but ourselves. We feel uncomfortable about the discussion of not just slavery, but especially the topic of racism. We do not want our children coming home and asking us if we ever used the "N" word. At least the Texas State School board found it as dumb as I did ad sent the study group back to the drawing board and said no to such a dumb idea.

Maybe the same people that come up with terms like “birthing people”?

All of it is intellectual laziness mixed with political correctness run amok, “birthing people” in place of pregnant women is just as stupid and absurd as “involuntary relocation” in place of slavery.

We do not accomplish anything with this nonsense, and when you get down to it we do not protect anyone either.

Racists who want top cover think it up.

With respect:

Evidence?

Right-wing ideologues/operatives who want to whitewash the history of slavery and weaken racial justice today.
