Invoke the 25th or we will look to impeach

No it won't. They don't have the time to impeach. This is nothing but political posturing. Hopefully he just won't run in 2024 or if he does people won't vote for him.

We have plenty of time to impeach. You could run an impeachment through in 72 hours if you had enough motivation.

But needn't. There are two additional points that are important to remember: First, one of the issues of impeachment is prohibition from holding office under the United States in the future: Second, there is the question of whether impeachment would prohibit the granting of further pardons:
Nope, impeachment does not prevent further office, conviction does. I don't see any restrictions on the President's Clemency powers due to impeachment.

No it isn't. It's not OK but it's not national security level. It was a few broken windows and some selfies. That's hardly a threat.

And some pipe bombs. And papers people fiddled with in congressional offices. And the need to sweep the facility before restarting the process.

But sure, go ahead and minimize it. It's a good look for you.

You don't think that the events yesterday increase potential actions by those who want to harm America? It is definitely a national security issue.

If a couple of broken windows and selfies are a national security issue then we have bigger problems to worry about.

There is a decent amount to the process.

Well, she is doing it if Pence does not invoke the 25th.

So you missed the part where they were carrying confederate flags in the people's house, parading on the floors of congress or going through legislators drawers? Incited by the President?

You mean the pipe bombs at RNC locations? OK...who did those? Oh...and the horror of papers being fiddled with. Anything but paper fiddling!

That's not what we're talking about. When the National Guard was mobilized yesterday, it wasn't done by the President. It was done by the Vice President. What's more, it was done smoothly by the Vice President - they didn't even go to the President with the request. This seemingly indicates that President Trump has already withdrawn himself from the national security loop and that Vice President Pence is effectively the acting President. Now if this is actually the case - and if the arrangement isn't formalized by officially invoking the 25th Amendment - then it presents a national security threat.

Oh noes! A piece of cloth was carried around. That's totally worse than breaking windows and illegally entering a building. People parading around or fiddling with papers? America is on it's knees!

This is hilarious. Cops assaulted, damaged property, governmental operations shut down due to asshats trying to forcibly break in to a government building... And the right dismisses it.

I guess these protesters would have to do somethin really heinous to get their attention...like kneeling during the national anthem or something...

Remember when over 20 people were murdered. Countless officers assaulted. Officers assassinated. A police precinct was burned down. A federal court house was under siege and heavily damaged. People tried to trap police in a building and set it on fire while they were still in it. Endless businesses were looted. Many buildings were burned down. ect. ect. ect.

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

stop gaslighting. this was an insurrection, storming the Capitol while congress is in session is no minor thing. Your lies to the contrary notwithstanding.
