No Evidence of Work Slowdown During 2010 Snow - Document - NYTimes.com

An investigation into conservative charges that there was some sort of slowdown by unionized public workers in New York city last winter has shown no evidence of such a thing. As many will remember right here on this board, bashing unionized workers in NY City became a right wing cause celebre last winter and many piled on. Now, after an investigation of the charges, they have been proven to have no foundation.

The line forms right here for those on the right who bashed hard working unionized workers based on lies and extremist ideology.

Believe what you want pal, but the people of New York know better... They saw it with their own 2 eyes.

Where are you from, again?

That's the way to be objective Grim - NOT.

The report is by NYC's Department of Investigation and though extensive evauation determined their was no slowdown. Yeah, there was a couple of slackers which Rupert Murdock's NY Post used to have an EXCLUSIVE and smear the union. And you blame me for seeing thing through partisan glasses? That's really rich.

:lamo Seriously? Really? :lamo

Those of us who live here no better, and it was a bi-partisan outrage not a "conservative media" one.

so bloombergs own investigation team investigated his own sanitation dept and found no slowdown.

Yet, the next storm which was just as big, no problems, Funny how that works...

Are you refuting what the City's Department of Investigation has determined?

yes, in fact, I am calling them a bunch of ****ing liars. rof

There was video on the local news of much of this. I live here, I saw it.

What you saw on the news was the likely isolated instances, the Dept. of Investigation reported. They said there was no overall slowdown, however. In the quote you took from Wikipedia, it said the slowdown was unsubstantiated.

"Hard working unionized [public] workers"? Now that is an oxymoron. :lamo

Hmmm... living in the area, I seem to remember the slowdown. I think it was fairly widespread, too. NYC was a disaster for a few days,

One city department investigating another city department. Let's think about that one for a sec.

Where are you from....again??? :ssst:
I live in Oregon, but if I live in South America I could read the same report from the city's investigation arm. FWIW, I was born and raised 35 miles north of the city on the Hudson river, so I know how tough and frustrating it can be with a huge snowfall in the area.

Read the report at the OP, it specifically calls out Rupert Murdoch's rag, The New York Post.

Read the report at the OP.

I did.

The New York City Department of Investigation found no evidence of a work slowdown by sanitation workers during the blizzard in December 2010.

Like I said. The city investigated itself, and found no problems. Big surprise.

The disaster might have had something to do with the 97 feet of snow you'd had and the fact that there was nowhere else to put it!

So despite the mountain of evidence they provide, you prefer to use innuendo to make them guilty of a cover-up?

RIGHT WING LIES!!! The Government investigated itself and found it was all RIGHT WING LIES!!!

Until criminals are allowed to prosecute themselves and find themselves not guilty in a court of law, I will definitely laugh at anyone investigating themselves and finding no wrongdoing.

I would ask everyone to keep in mind that the Majority of people who work for the City of N.Y. are not Po-Conservative but they are Pro-Union and they tend to stick together. It's that way in most Cities and States from whay I have seen.

A family member was told by his supervisor to "slow down" ...

NYC Investigating Reports of Work Slowdown During Snow Removal - Businessweek

Was NYC snow plow effort sabotaged? - Weather - msnbc.com
"While no one was explicitly ordered to leave streets unplowed, Halloran said, certain supervisors had made it clear that workers who shirked their duties wouldn't be punished."

Right wing whine #28 - "do not confuse me with facts as they they put serious wrinkles in my belief system".

The hate for unions on the part of the radical right is so thick and so obsessive that it overrides reality. This is a perfect example.

Also if you took the time to read the report you would have found the following:

15% of the trucks were seen with their plows up via video tape.
3 trucks seen stationary on the streets for long periods of time with no explainable reasons via video tape.
Salt trucks were observed on video sitting idle for a half hour for no apparent reason.

Queens 8, has trucks with GPS and engine sensors that are downloaded at the end of the shift, and this district had the highest percentage of streets cleared...

The investigation proved 2 DSNY workers had purchased AND DRANK beer ON VIDEO while on the shift, as originally stated in the POST article. See page 44 for the pictures and take the time to read what you post online to find the text information.

It was you who wrote on this website you do not let facts sway your opinion. I would gladly quote it in my signature if it was not an issue. I am asking permission to put that in my signature. May I?
