The fact that you're a doctor makes no difference to the argument. There are billions of men around the world for whom not being circumcised is the norm, and they lead healthy, productive lives.

Circumcision is a cultural norm and nothing more. That culture is also imbedded in the medical establishment. It doesn't change the fact that it's unnecessary. I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to do it - do what you want, it's your child - but just acknowledge it for what it is: a preference.

I'm cut and I lead a healthy and productive life also.

My parents had me circumsized when I was a baby and I have not suffered for it. I have done the same to my son. If that makes me a bad parent in your eyes then oh well. Not my problem.

The only issue I had was that they would do it without anesthesia.
So I postponed the procedure and scheduled it for my children as an actual surgery.

If this was how things went then far fewer babies would be circumcised - and those who were would be treated humanely rather than like an animal.
