When you have a crowded field, it is vital to get headlines - any headlines - to keep your name out front at all times. That is what Trump did in 2016 and what he is doing today. If she can learn to drop that hand in support of a criminal as president, then she could win in the general. But then she loses the nomination. The GOP has painted itself into a corner.

What I don't understand is how Trump does it. How does he create such cult-like devotion that his supporters abandon common sense and integrity? Cult leaders are generally regarded as charismatic and charming, but Trump's personality is just ugly.
