In the matter of shut downs, look what we see.

That is because shutting down the country isn't going to stop people from overeating. That is a problem within the individual, not something that can be prevented by closing anything but that individuals mouth from time to time.

On the other hand, this virus has shown that treated properly, it can be slowed down when people treat it like the COMMUNICABLE EPIDEMIC that it is.

When obesity becomes communicable, get back to me.

Says the guy who is apparently opposed to taking proper precautions to try to limit the deaths you are crying about.

We saw what happened over the summer in TX and FL when they just decided to open back up....shit got out of control.....and that was when the temperatures were HELPING keep the virus under control. If you think just acting like it doesn't exist is gonna go well this winter, you are simply not paying attention to the facts of the situation.
 
Two things: Georgia. Must keep the fear of voting in person fresh in the minds of the GA voters. Second, Dem elected officials want to curry favor with the future administration and help erode rights and liberties. You know, prime the pump for Biden and the progressives.

Overeating doesn't spread though the air by nitwits or have the potential to kill someone innocent in a matter of weeks. We need to shut down nitwits.

Also remove the choice of people to smoke or do drugs. Anyone doing them should be held accountable with strong government action.

I rather no died before reaching a nice old age but if someone wants to eat himself to death it isn’t my place to stop him.

It’s so annoying when people dip into the absurd to “win” an argument. Im sure you know the difference between freedom to make poor life decisions and lock downs to stop the exponential spread of a virus...or I hope you d.

Mayors can't do much without the governors approval.

Because of the Trump Virus a lot of states have shut down businesses, mandated masks and curfews....including republican states like Kentucky and Ohio.

Yes...I understand the absurdity of destroying an entire economy for questionable gains. We're seeing large increases in suicides, mental health issues, malnutrition, domestic violence, ect. All for stopping a virus that has less than 1% mortality rate and that is very low among younger and healthier people. Locking everyone and everything down instead of taking a nuanced approach is nonsensical.
 
The 1% fatality rate assumes there are the needed resources both ICU beds and staff to handle severe cases. So, what is the fatality rate when hospitals have to say “no mas”? What happens to a heart attack victim when there are no beds or staff to handle him? That is the fear...and that’s what lockdowns are trying to prevent.
