In the matter of shut downs, look what we see.

That’s terrible but it has no bearing on what I stated.

It does when people start losing easy access to medical care, and have to drive further away, ect.

I remember that time one of my friends caught obesity from someone else and died.

Right? It has reached epidemic levels. It's spreading everywhere.

What an ignorant comment. Can you spread obesity onto others?

good question. On one hand I would say no it can’t be spread the way a cold is. On the other I would say when you have cities that enacted bans on soda size to help fight obesity, something people called an epidemic pre COVID days. It could be argued that yes ho can spread obesity.

All that may be off topic but the question intreste me an was a break fro. The typical partisan mud slinging

And what does that have to do with wearing masks and not having a dozen people over for Christmas?

The subject is shutdowns, not masks.

You began this dialog by talking about people over eating. And I noted that’s a personal choice that affects no one but yourself.

That has nothing to do with shutdowns.

3,124 deaths yesterday divided by 0.006 who die that get covid means that 520,000 survived covid yesterday.

Yep, passed person to person just like Covid, which is why your comparison is apt and not at all so moronic that it should come with its own short bus.

Yes...I understand the absurdity of destroying an entire economy for questionable gains. We're seeing large increases in suicides, mental health issues, malnutrition, domestic violence, ect. All for stopping a virus that has less than 1% mortality rate and that is very low among younger and healthier people. Locking everyone and everything down instead of taking a nuanced approach is nonsensical.

****ing morons didn't want to follow the nuanced approach....you know...wearing a ****ing mask in the first place.

If it hadn't been for the people out there who were hell bent on acting like this thing was the hoax Pumpkin Caligula told them it was, this probably would have died down instead of exploding the second temperatures dropped even a little. That some people were willing to put profit over personal safety doesn't mean that the rest of us have to just be good with it.

The topic is shutdowns because some people wouldn't wear masks.

They go hand in hand.

Had masks been adopted earlier by those that refused, we may not have gotten to the need to shut everything down to protect the rest of us from the idiots.

For yesterday.

Maybe not so much today.
2,381 so far today — the point of that post was to ridicule the claim that 520,000 people survived covid yesterday and tested negative

Sorry.... the sarcasm didn't translate in text. My bad. You point is now understood and agreed with.

I’m afraid we’ll be at more like 5,000 + by the time we get to mid-January. Hospitals are full and medical providers are exhausted.

My wife is a respiratory therapist at a hospital in town. She comes home every day wiped from wearing her PPE all day every day.

The crazy part is that in the last 3 weeks, she has had 5 idiots come into the hospital positive for COVID who would refuse to wear a mask in thier hospital room while they were being taken care of. The hospital policy meant they had to get out. Sadly, 2 of them came back days later and died in the ER due to lack of treatment.

People are literally willing to die to pretend like its not that big a deal. I just don't get it.

Seems like everywhere is having a second wave and shutdowns except for maybe South Korea and Japan? I know SK has been masking as a matter of course due to small particle storms and other forms of terrible pollution that wafts down from China.
