The treasonous trumpmusk disaster gives a huge boost to the Democrat in 2028 and demands Democratic leadership now, who will likely pursue the presidency in 2028. I think Booker's stunt tonight with 'longest Senate speech in history to resist trump' is very likely aimed at positioning him for that.

He can run 🤷 doesnt mean he's a good candidate.

Talk for 24 hours and not make any sense. Defiantly precedential material.

No. Please GOD, NO.

We need a progressive populist candidate who actually has a vision for bettering the country and the well-being of its people in a holistic manner. We do not need someone who tries to affect West Wing Liberalism and will try to take us half-way back to the miserable neo-liberal status quo that led to the victory of Donald Trump in the first place.

I've been an admirer of Booker since he was Mayor of Newark. I've also admired Amy Klobuchar' record since she was first elected to the Senate.

If I had to choose a nominee today, it'd be one of those two. But 2028 is a long ways off. Booker still has to be re-elected in 2026. I think his seat is pretty safe, but you never take anything for granted.

Not even going to think of 2028 until 2026 is done. One election at a time.

I admit I didn't listen to/read any of his speech.

What was he saying that made no sense?

I see Harold Ford Jr on the 5 now and then. He is probably the only sane Democrat in the public eye currently imo. I don't think he has the stomach for politics again. He has avoided jumping into the losing 80/20 Democrat current fixations.
