25,064 murders that did not need to happen and could be avoided had the illegals that committed them not been in America to begin with.

I would be curious what role economics plays in this, if any.

The point of this is......what?

That poor people with no access to the means to live must then rely on other ways to survive?

Which often means crime or welfare. Do you expect them to just die quietly?

Eh....maybe to die quietly or not quietly....in their home country?

I don't know. I'm waiting, like everyone else, lol.

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

You know, this is one of those....quentessentially american things. A defining characteristic. When I first read the poem, I got goose bumps. Because I was proud. Proud of something worth being proud of, in my opinion. You get rid of this, you get rid of one more reason to be proud to call yourself an american.

How gives a ****? If they were not here they could not commit crimes against us.

We would have few victims of violent crime and have to pay less in taxes for prisons, translators, cops, attorneys, judges, ect.

No, they need to be kept out of the nation, we have too many of our own.

We can look at data & figures all day, and debate 'till we're blue in the face.

But the fact of the matter is: any criminal act committed by an individual who entered this country illegally is an unnecessary & unwarranted act upon the American people. The statistics don't matter - it should not happen, period. I see this literally as homicidal (et al) negligence at the hand of our government & political parties.

And if you think I'm tough on this stuff, try asking my wife who immigrated here legally, and spent the years, the tears, and the dollars to *EARN* her citizenship! You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone more despising illegal immigration than those who've worked & struggled to become citizens themselves! I deeply admire what my wife, father, and grandparents (both sides) did to immigrate here and become productive citizens who do really love America.

And those that break the law to break-in here? This is how they display their 'love of America'?

Hah! That's love of self!

If you want this proud American's respect, trust, and admiration - you don't start-out with an illegal act bypassing the hard work required to enjoy what I and my family have earned.

It's that simple.

No we expect to keep them out of the nation to begin with. What nation needs to import crime and poverty?

I still doubt legal immigration is importing crime and poverty, it's illegal immigrants carrying that burden. Sorry but you are going to have to prove otherwise, go google it is not going to cut it.

Not gonna happen. We have people floating here on basketballs. We have way to much open boarder. Bottom line, what you want simply isn't possible. Solution? Move to the next best possible idea. Why do they commit crimes? Likely? Economics. They do so to earn a living. Solution? Make them citizens, so they can get jobs much more easily, start paying taxes, and get some skin in the game of american life.

Not for nothing, bro....people exactly like YOU have been around and vocal about anti immigration since before the civil war. Always the same doom and gloom. And you know what? Immigrants BUILT this country. I'm the product of immigrants. My forebears got off a boat from Ireland, and were marched right onto another boat bound for the south, to kill rebels. And here I am.

You're worried about the economics of having too many immigrants, and the truth is, they're productive people, if we would but allow them to be. You want to improve the economic situation of this country, you'd better start doing so elsewhere....immigrants aren't the problem, they're actually part of the solution, if we would just let them be.

In your haste, you are missing a point.

I get it, if they were not here they would not be committing these crimes here. That said, they are. As individuals they should be held accountable for their crimes, all of them including immigration crimes.

However, when looking at a group statistically it is Sociology 101 to talk about factors when one group has an elevated stat along these lines. It is not about excuses or acceptance, it is about gaining and understanding we are being forced to evaluate because we do not properly enforce immigration law.

And maybe that's part of the problem. Maybe we have made it nigh on impossible for most from many countries to get here legally.

Make criminals here illegally citizens? Not on my watch.

Yes, and I agree!

Immigrants are the back-bone strength of this country.

And this was a call to 'join us'; to work hard & earn what we enjoy through the fruits of our labors.

What the inscription didn't state: "Commit an illegal act behind our backs to get what we've earned, without having to earn it yourself"

It's a global world now, I happen to agree with you in many ways but I think this genie isn't going back in the bottle.

No, its not. and the idea that we can not control our borders and keep out those that would be a burden is a joke that is devoid of any facts, those that would be a burden, who would change/harm our culture, and reduce our Liberty by their actions or politics will be kept out.

Self preservation/Self defense is the first and highest right and without that no other rights are of value.

Immigration to this country traditionally didn't involved multi year waiting lists and investments of small fortunes.

What it also doesn't say is "Unless you can't afford it, then don't come."

Perhaps in some cases (boat & plane). But there's no reason to have the porous southern border we currently have.

I don't have figures, but I very highly suspect the illegal immigration over our southern border far surpasses those arriving in our ports & airports by magnitudes. Literal magnitudes.

That is not a free pass.
