This guy should have been deported after his first offense. But he wasn't because the people incharge have designated Virginia Beach a sanctuary city. If you read past the initial story of this CRIMINAL alien killing to innocent young girls you will see that this is all to common. When will the government do what the majority of Americans want done. Close our border and start deporting illegals. Start with the ones that have commited crimes other than crossing our border illegally ~ Sgt Rock

Sanctuary cities should be banned.If the elected officials in that town does not do their job they should be physically removed from office and tossed in prison.

KATV Channel 7 - Study Shows Half Of Immigrants Are Legal

The above link does not provide all the information that was on the news broadcast last night. Basically this report found that immigrants (which about half are illegal) contribute more money to Arkansas than they receive from the state. Also from the article, "Without this labor force, the study says state manufacturers and other companies would lose about one-point-four (b) billion dollars in production a year and pay 95 (m) million dollars more for higher wages."

I personally feel that the immigration issue is a losing battle. Why? Small busninesses, big businesses and corporations thrive on both legal and illegal immigrants. The views and beliefs of average working Americans matter not when compared to needs of business.
 
I agree. The minute an illegal alien commits a crime, he/she should be deported--at once! Get the hell out of my country if you can't abide by the laws. Stuff like this infuriates me.
 
Something very similar like that happened here. This was back in November and so far the guys haven't been deported and haven't even went to trial yet. They probably deported themselves so they could come back in a week as someone else and it will be as if nothing happened.

There is a huge difference between illegal and legal immigrants, I'm legal I pay taxes, I have insurance, I own property, I have a very well paying job, if I commit a crime they can find me very easily. On a personal level I find it very insulting to compare a legal immigrant to an illegal one. I am not a criminal, an illegal immigrant is.

When an illegal is found to have committed a crime, they should be held without bail, face a judge, do their punishment for the crime and be deported as soon as their jailtime is up. Any monies they made while in jail should go back into the system to pay for their incarceration. I would agree with instant deportation but as Americanwoman says they can easily come back.
 
Well, you gotta be careful with the bail thing. We can't lay excessive bail on people. Also, this is one case and it was one in which a drunk driver has killed some innocent people. Now, if Americans didn't do this, perchance there is reason to be pissed off. However, illegal immigration will never be at zero and if you want to really effect the problem you have to go after companies which hire illegal aliens and get the demand for illegals down. Also, I think we should make it a heck of a lot easier to get into this country legally. This whole issue is overblown and has a rather simple solution which doesn't revolve around building a fence. It's just that you have to go after some of the companies which fund the Republocrats and that means that we have to put a lot of pressure on our politicians in order to do so. Immigrants rock, we need them for our economy; let's make it easier to get in and crack down on the hiring of illegals. That is the best way to affect this problem. But bitching about some drunk dude who got into a wreck...it's not that he was illegal that caused it, it was because he was drunk. Drinking and driving isn't good.
 

How did these company's survive before the cheap labor came in and increased profits by driving down wages.

How many drunk driving accidents are there? In 2004 there were 16,694 drunk driving related deaths. If we got rid of all illegals that number will not be zero. It's sad to say, but 2 added to that isn't much of a difference at all. The problem is not illegal immigrants, it's drunk driving. This entire article is made to try to stir up emotions..oh noes with Illegal Immigrants on the road we're all doomed. Why not only do they not obey our immigration laws...they don't obey our drinking and driving laws. Yeah...like we do. It's tripe and nothing more. Propaganda meant to continue the "controversy" over something with a simple solution which politicians won't take. Blame the government, they're the ones not doing anything.

I believe our immigration policy should be in our nation's best interest - and not a humanistic one.

Which means we allow in far more educated immigrants and few of the "poor huddled masses" variety. But we do allow immigration and don't close our borders as your message stated.
 

You know whats sad to say. If this Animal had been deported after his first DUI conviction those 2 girls would be alive today. You know whats even sader. That you don't seem to give a damn. Go ahead, keep makeing excuses for the poor Criminal Immigrants.
 
Bitching about it isn't going to solve the problem. Overreacting and blaming people isn't going to solve the problem. That article wasn't meant to solve anything, it was meant to fuel the flames. 2 girls are dead, and yes it's sad. It's as sad as the 16,000+ other preventable drunk driving deaths. Drinking and driving is a very bad idea, and when you do it you endanger the lives of others around you. Oh if only that one guy hadn't been there, those two girls would be alive. There would be many people alive today if certain circumstances hadn't worked out the way they did. Drunk driving isn't limited to illegals, Americans do it, tourists do it, legal immigrants do it. But you one to take this one case where it so happened that an illegal was drinking and driving and you want to say "Oh, those girls would have been alive today if". I know some people whom would be alive to day if. But if didn't happen, and if isn't going to change it. This article posted speaks more to the dangers of drinking and driving than it does illegal immigration. I doubt illegal immigrants take out 16,000+ a year.

The solution is simple. Go after companies hiring illegal aliens. Fine them, shut them down, whatever it takes to remove the demand for illegal aliens. Make legal immigration into this country easier. This solution, the easiest, most effective, most cost effective solution is just this. And it is one in which the government is not pursuing. If you're so pissed, bitch to them and get them to act to solve the f'n problem. But no one is looking to solve it because it's a political game they can use for votes.

Yes, but him just being there didn't cause the accident. Him drinking and driving did. And if one is so upset about him being there, there are steps to take which can alleviate much of the problem. However, those steps are not being sought by the government. So once again, it is the fault of the government for not taking the proper steps to control this problem. Perchance he wouldn't have been there had the government been cracking down on companies which hire illegal aliens.
 

The government is cracking down on companies that hire illegals. I personally have reported 2 companies that are currently under investigation. I expect they will be charged and convicted soon. And all of the illegals deported. I also think its time we build the fence. Put guards on the fence. Shoot to kill anyone that attempts to come over. That will stop illegal immigration. First we should put up signs in spanish that say. Stay out Soverign United states property. If you enter you will be shot on sight.

Similar to the Keep Out sighns you see on private property. Were I live, you have the right to shoot anyone that is trespassing on your property.

Before you start making comparisons to the east German soliders shooting people tring to cross the infamaous Wall keep in mind that they were trying to shoot people that were attempting to get out of E. Germany. We would be trying to stop an invasion ~ Sgt Rock

I don't have a problem with a living wage. As you say, many in the business community do. The report said that Mexican immigrants in Arkansas make on average $7.50. While native arkansans make about $11. Lastly it said that Asian immigrants averaged $14. The report cited education as the main factor. Adding that most of the Mexican immigrants did not even have a high school education.

There was also an article many months ago about relative poverty. The article suggested that immigrants did more with their money. They live, and live well, on salaries that many Americans can not. Why? The article highligted lifestyle and priority differences. Saying that immigrants invest heavily in their families and native land. For instance the article noted that Latino home ownership has been on the rise. Even though Latino immigrants have difficulty securing credit. They use cash to make most of their purchases. They also mentioned that Latino immigrants are starting more businesses. Using their hard work and ability to stretch a dollar to achieve tremendous results.

Because I don't want a bunch of security checkpoints at every major intersection in America.

No matter how proactive one is - illegals will gain access to this country.

There is only no way if there is no will. Putting up a wall (a real one), and stationing troops along that wall, would end the problem once and for all.
