Remember kids, immigration is driven by conditions in the country they are immigrating from and not policy in the country they are trying to immigrate to.

Also, republicans aren't interested in reforming immigration, they'd rather have the issue than the solution, not that they're capable of a solution.

It's probably due to the booming American economy & record high job market.

That being said, illegal Immigration is an absolute disaster in the country, and the refugee system needs to be reformed.

I don't think either party is interested in reforming our current system, which is too bad, because those seeking refuge shouldn't be tossed about.

2.2 million border encounters in the past year means ... just encounters.

Most of them were apprehended at the border and sent back home, meaning they are not illegals in the US.

And besides, even if a few managed to get in, these numbers are not record-highs:

US births dropped to 3.5 million last year (from 4.6 million in 2006).

Deaths, because Covid/drug abuse/etc., increased from 2.8 million in 2006 to 3.4 million.

Which means the US only had a birth surplus of 0.1 million last year, compared to 1.8 million in 2006.

Immigrants are therefore needed for the workforce and because during Covid the population stagnated. The increase in immigration was to be expected and is not a bad thing, because farm aides, truck drivers etc. are needed.

You are very noble in once more trying to shed truth and reality on the issue. But they won't see it, won't believe it, and sure as hell they will continue with pushing the false narrative.

The truths behind the figures are irrelevant to them, only the perceived false reality is important.

Just like with the Election Deniers, false narratives are their reality.

I set the truth to this alleged incredible "border crisis" Right Wing narrative a couple weeks ago but here it is once again.
