I would choose ....

  • Belgium

  • Netherlands

  • Denmark

  • Poland

  • Czech Republic

  • Austria

  • at the end of the day I would visit Germany, all the same

Until a little while ago you had to have a negative test to enter Germany
So that could be a reason why Germany would want to avoid someone but not why someone would want to avoid Germany

@ Visiting France

It takes me just 15 to 20 minutes to get there by car.

I hope it will soon be possible to go there again - just for lunch and back again.
And have a Riesling or an Edelzwicker there - in the Alsace.

Just see it as a poll about the popularity of Germany's neighbours - counted clockwise :)
Rumpel:

You left out one neighbour. Russia! It's Novichok for you! Tsar Vlad will not be pleased.

Cheers and be well?
Evilroddy.

No fear!
Germany and Russia have no common border.
When I said "neighbour countries" - that meant countries that share a common land border with Germany.

------------

Btw: I have been to Russia.
Twice to Perm near the Ural, and once to Krasnodar in the Caucasus.

Rumpel:

Yes, my brain malfunctioned. I was thinking about Kaliningrad but that's surrounded by Poland these days. As always I blame the Pruussian Junkers! Yup, I make a mistake and the Junkers are blamed. I like it!

Sorry to screw up your very nice thread with Junker propaganda spawned error by me.

Krasnodar eh? Why?

Cheers and be well.
Evilroddy.

Kaliningrad is still known as Königsberg here. :)
Rumpel:

More Junker propaganda, eh? ;) Did your lot hide the Amber Room?:)

Cheers and be well.

Now even 14 out of 23 say: at the end of the day I would visit Germany, all the same

Surprising!

But politically correct Germans tell everybody all the time that Germany is a very very bad country where everybody is a Nazi - except those few politically correct people themselves. And that Germany is a very racist and fascist and imperialist and neo-colonist country - and that every German is a racist and a fascist and an imperialist and a neo-colonist - with the exception of those few politically correct people again.

Don't you think that was quite sensible?
And not a reason to avoid Germany, but rather the contrary.
Well some border workers were not able to go to work, there were actually a few people who could not leave their homes because the only way out of their property was over German streets, they could not even go and get a test.

So that could be a reason why Germany would want to avoid someone but not why someone would want to avoid Germany
Because they could not get a test or did not want to get a stick in their nose for a visit to Germany.

Stick in the nose I can see but unable to get the test would be a reason they cant go to Germany but not a reason why they would not want to go.

But you make the cutest little clocks!

One reason for choosing the these countries: There is a clearly defined list now! :)

If I had just chosen some European countries at random, then the usual protest had arrived:
"You forgot X!"
"You forgot Y!"
"Why did you not include Z?"

But by choosing a clearly defined list, nobody can claim that I had "forgotten" any country.
And in the end I even included Gerrmany - though Germany is no neighbour of Germany, of course! :)

Germany is by far Germany's closest neighborhood.

Thanks all for the Kolache education. I guess I'll stick with the ones that I like, the best Texas ones are made in the city of West, 19 miles north of Waco.
