If You Had The Decision To Make To Perpetuate Human Life Elsewhere Would You

I have heard of Western propaganda, and of American lies against every other people on the planet earth.

It is far more likely that we the USA have execution vans just as we murder people with surprise bombs from Drones, but China has no such thing.

Why must we try to demonize everyone and the Chinese are not demons, and how can you believe garbage like that?

China is right now in the works of putting a colony on the Moon.

You've never been to China, have you? Do you even speak Chinese? :lamo

wow. You'll be looking for yet another planet then....

Most of us don't believe trashing our environment and then moving on is moral, justifiable, nor sustainable. You are free to differ.

I'm sorry..."nor sustainable"? There are literally too many worlds out there to count. I don't think that sustainability in such a situation is even a slight factor. Particularly since if we can travel to another planet then we no doubt have the capability to terraform.

Maybe I have been and maybe not.

Maybe I can speak it or maybe not.

That makes no difference to the point or to the subject.

Sure it does, because it indicates that you really have no idea what you're talking about.

Gathering in all of your experiences relating to the human race if the world was ending as it will some day and there was a method of transporting any or all of the human race to another planet and the decision to do so or not to do so rested solely on your shoulders what would you decide and why?

Of course, mankind is meant to conquer the Universe.

First lets talk about that part I highlighted...

Someday? Like when? 50 years? 100 years? 1,000 years? 10,000 years? 1 million years? Time matters, don't you think? Heck, humans might not even BE on Earth anymore...or they might not even exist.

Anyway, to answer your question, I would transport every human being who wanted to leave because they all ARE human beings and deserve to continue to live just as much as any other person.

We are a parasitical disease, so of course we want to spread to a new host before we finish off the old one.

Who cares if we destroy it? Christ. You make it sounds like you care more about a rock than you do for your fellow man. It's just a planet. It doesn't have rights, feelings, or value other than what we give to it. If you are actually willing to allow humanity to be annihilated because you're uncertain if we'll live an 'unsustainable' lifestyle on that planet that is madness.

If the planet has other forms of life, they may have rights, feelings, or value, at least to each other. I would hate for humans to go somewhere and destroy a living planet that has life that is more sophisticated and/or more moral than humans.

Good planets are hard to find.

None of that makes sense or resonates with me. The Earth is important because we live on it. Without us it has no more value than any other planet in the Universe.

If "we" means humans only, I disagree. All the other living things also have value, arguably more value because they lack our tendency to harm others without a need to do so.

They eat them because they need to eat something. Only humans do stuff like this:

Yes, only humans make ****ty internet images.

For now.

(I'm loling at the same guy that called humans a virus/plague showing a picture of an invasive type of tree spreading across a countryside. Just because it looks prettier to us means one is good and the other bad? lmao)

Humans are also the only ones who replant and revitalize previously cleared areas; and the only beings on Earth with sufficient intellect to really give a damn and know why.

Humans are also the only species on Earth to do many other things, like this:

We're also the only species on Earth (or anywhere that we yet know of) sophisticated enough to recognize the below as more than just lake-and-trees, but as beauty...

Anyone who would choose 'no' is an evil individual. It's the most vile, murderous, and diabolical act a human being could commit. It's literal genocide.

I would do nothing to stop humanity from escaping. But I would do nothing to save it (or me) either.

Imo, humanity is a selfish, cruel and incredibly, stupid bunch (generally - with exceptions). I see nothing (overall) worth making an effort to save and I highly doubt the universe would miss us...on the contrary.

More interesting questions might be -

If the USA became unlivable for some reason (environmental, volcanos erupting, whatever) - would people support us taking over another country or another continent for our people to live in? By force, if we have to?

If Indonesia (as an example) became unlivable due to rising sea leavels, let's say - would we support moving all the residents of Indonesia into one or more of our states - Utah, Colorado, Arizona, California all have lots of room?

Those aren't the op - but I find them more interesting questions and more likely to happen.

I see this comment as driving home the point of opposition in that mankind intends to CONQUER.

The idea is not to EXPLORE or to SETTLE or to INVESTIGATE or even for ADVENTURE - no.

Not to visit other worlds or even to colonize but to "conquer" is our true intention.

Humans are violent brute beast who have a primitive drive to feed our greed and stuff our faces and gratify lust and to CONQUER.

This is why humanity is seen as an infectious disease, because we are so determined and aggressive in spreading out with total disregard for the huge damage that we create along our way.

That is exactly what is done by an infectious disease.

I agree with this, in that making the idea into a more realistic and a possible reality then we can see the picture much more clearly.

The way so many in the USA are complaining about a relative few undocumented immigrants then my fellow Americans would NEVER agree to letting in people from Indonesia even after such a worldwide catastrophe of rising sea levels which we the USA in particular created that phenomenon.

And China tried to join in with the International Space Station but the USA will not allow that because we think that China will get some secret technology, so the mentality of my USA is not going to help in moving humanity to some other planet for any reason.

Seen by who? I'm sure there are millions who would disagree with you. "Seen by some" would have been more accurate. This isn't the first time that you have made a statement that implies that you have interviewed everybody on the planet.

Yeah, I still wonder in "interstellar" if NASA only got Americans off the planet or not...

I have not yet seen that movie - Interstellar - and I will wait for it to come out on one of the movie channels.

There can not be any real consideration for removing the entire population of the earth even under the worst case scenario, and it would be more realistic to ask if they would be like a modern "Noah's Arc" and take at least two (male and female) of every ethnic group, and take sets of every kind of animal too.

For myself then I would be happy to be left behind, as like with a few females and we will find our own food and the rest of humanity can get gone ASAP.

I would save only Amanda Seyfreid. And myself.
