I would like for people to be better able to see common ground. That is, if we all want America to be as good as she can be, we got something in common. Start there, and we can find solutions we can agree on. It is when you look for the differences, when you divide and demonize, then there is no hope to find solutions, and everything stagnates as we block what each other would do.

It is 4am, so I did not phrase that as well as I would have liked, but hopefully I got the point across kinda thing.

I say it is impossible because I believe most Americans don't even know the basics of being an American in the first place

Get money out of politics. The left and right spectrum is clouded by the fact that there is a vast array of special interests. What seems ‘far left’ is not far left at all. The moderate center is demonstrably right-wing. We can’t ‘agree on anything’ when there are special interests pulling the dialog in every which direction. Politicians follow the buck. The fact that Nixon was to the left of Obama on policy should tell you something.

That's rather subjective. I could claim the same goal as words, but it could be very different than yours.

That said, eliminate this blind adherence to a two party system, and have a larger mix of parties.

Not really, there are certain American principles that are suppose to be in us Americans

Americans are not suppose to put up with unjust taxes but we do

Americans have a right to bear arms period

Not sure what that means. The founders of our country were very divided politically as well. The Jefferson/Hamilton feuds we’re notoriously ugly.
