If Cain won the primary I will vote for him.If Romney wins then I will vote for a 3rd party candidate,If my state screws 3rd parties again then I will simply just not vote for president. I will just simply vote on the ballot issues and other elections.
1. You said "If Romney wins then I will vote for a 3rd party candidate"...why? Do you hate Mormons? Do you think he would be worse than Obama?
2. Simply not voting would confirm Obama for another term by default, so that is a fools errand.
3. Third party voting only worked once in this country for president. It won't do anything other than assure Obama another term in office and I can't see any thinking individual willing to put up with that.
Because some people take their vote seriously and will not vote for someone they don't agree with or don't think would be good for the country simply because he's the best of the likely options. Your vote is essentially your endorsement of someone, and to some people that is a serious enough thing that they don't give it away based on "defacto" reasons.
The above answer I gave her could apply. Additionally, some people don't take a 4 year view point of the US at all times. Continue to vote for a ****ty Republican/Democratic candidate simply because they're not as bad as the other guy and you garauntee you'll likely continue to get ****ty candidates. Not voting may bring about some short term pain, but with the hope that in the long term it leads to better results.
Ah, my mistake with my first two answers, I thought this was going to be a reasonable discussion and not a "if you don't think exactly what I do you must be an idiot" type of rhetorical blabberfest. My bad.
So just go ahead and vote for Obama and be happy...for as long as you can. As for the idiot thing...as you wish, be my guest.
Why would I vote for Obama? I don't endorse him, nor support him being President, so I wouldn't bother putting a vote for him.
Duh...that post was a reply to Zyphlin.
now I am confused...I am Zyphlin
First choice......Obama
Second choice.......Obama
Third choice..............Obama
My opinion hasn't changed since last month, but his chances of winning seem to have improved some.I'll vote for Gingrich if he has any shot at winning. I'd rather have Gingrich than any of them. Of course, I voted for Fred Thompson last time, and he didn't get anywhere.
Which is self-contradictory considering you have 5,579 posts on an internet message board dedicated to the topic of "politicians and political drama." Are you planning on leaving us or just scratching a masochistic itch?I would not vote. I am sick of politicians and political drama.
Judging from the content and those who "like" the words of wisdom from Friday......It is absurd that Obama is still considered to be a viable candidate. I can't imagine anyone else in this country who could increase the deficit to over a trillion dollars and have zero growth to show for it. He's like the idiot who files for bankruptcy a couple years after winning the lottery because he was so incredibly inept at handling his finances that he managed to waste all that money and have nothing to show for it.
Then we get into Obama's lawlessness. He laundered over $500 million in taxpayer funds through Solyndra to one of his biggest financial donors. He stole Chrysler from it's American owners and debt holders and fire-sold it to Italy to keep his union voters happy. Despite a congressional law forbidding US lobbying for abortion overseas, Obama's administration spent millions in tax dollars to ensure that Kenya's new constitution supports abortion. His justice department funneled weapons to Mexican drug lords which were used to kill our border agents. His justice department dropped the voter intimidation case against the black panthers, but sued pro-lifers for standing too close to the clinic.
He is a racist, a lawbreaker, and his incompetence has stalled an economic recovery for three years now. He has more gaffes than Bachmann, Perry and Cain combined. He has embarrassed himself and our country in front of almost every world leader he has met and he has done great harm to some of our longest standing international relationships.
He is managing to stay on Bush's schedule for bringing our troops home, but at the same time has invaded Libya and Uganda, solidifying our role as the world's police.
I'm sorry, I can't see why anyone would vote for him. And with all do respect to some of my fellow conservatives here, you would have to be absolutely stupid to stay home next november given the choice between Obama and ANY GOP candidate running from Romney to Johnson to Paul To Gingrich. I would vote for half the Democrats out there over Barack Obama. It pains me to say, but I would vote for Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama. I disagree with her 100%, but at least she displays the slightest bit of competence.

Obama, no doubt in my mind.
