Oh if only we could make liberalism illegal the world would be full of sunshine again. Damn you liberals!
Certainly Hitler, Stalin, and Mao and 100 other recent imitators should have been enough to demonstrate to us that big liberal central govt does not work and is very very deadly. Our Founders based our county on this principle without having seen Hitler Stalin and Mao. We have seen them and still don't know to make liberalism illegal as our Founders intended. What is wrong with us?
Here are some quotes from Jefferson and Madison to introduce libsocialists to the basics of American History:
Thomas Jefferson:
The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.
“I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
― James Madison
Jefferson:
History, in general, only informs us of what bad government is.
I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
My reading of history convinces me that bad government results from too much government.
Our country is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction, to wit: by consolidation of power first, and then corruption, its necessary consequence.
I don't know whether to poke the original poster for his terrible understanding of political liberalism or the fact that making a political ideology or orientation illegal was antithetical toward the Founders' understanding of proper governance.
Whatever the case, I shall laugh at the stupidity displayed here.
making liberalism illegal would be a liberal policy of big government telling you what to think. Its a black hole!!!!!!!
There are many stupid folks on this website that think anything is liberal if it makes the government bigger in any way.
Through this singular lens, pretty much every political ideology except a very narrow band of beliefs is liberal.
Double damn liberals, they're still gonna win this one.

our Founders already did it when they wrote the Constitution. All we have to do is follow it.
Or think that liberalism is bad when at the same time quoting Jefferson and Madison espousing the virtues of liberty.
It's incredible, but certainly not surprising.
"Liberalism" IS illegal in the U.S. on the federal level - at least in terms of it being unconstitutional. The vast majority of government services were intended to be administered by the states, with each state able to build governance to whatever level the people of that state wanted.
The constitution tells you how to think???? Does it have an accent when its telling you things?

actually Jefferson and Madison were for very very tiny govt. Why did you think they founded the Republican party in 1793?????

OMG YES!!!

Yeah, look at what those doggone lib'ruls done gone and FORCED on America:
Social Security
Civil Rights Act
Desegregation
Unemployment Insurance
Free public schools
The right of women to vote
The right of non-whites to vote
The ending of Jim Crow laws
Seat belt laws
Forcing Big Tobacco to pay up for killing a half million Americans every year
I could go on and on and on...but the above should serve as a great indictment as to how liberalism has truly ruined America!!!!
Till that noted liberal Abraham Lincoln came along and told the states that they couldn't decide whether to have slaves or not.
.
And then there's the fact - FACT! - that America's government was "tiny" indeed before the Constitutional Convention during when Jefferson and Madison and company - and with the support of a guy named George Washington - made the government much bigger than it had been before 1789.
Yeah, they meant for it to be tiny, because they were responding to monarchism,
Secondly, they did not found the Republican Party. They, for all intents and purposes, created the Democratic Party.
Yeah, look at what those doggone lib'ruls done gone and FORCED on America:
Social Security
Civil Rights Act
