If gun rights are so great for protecting liberty and freedom...

This is kinda a dumb argument. You could replace "guns" with any number of things and make the same argument.

"If democracy are so great for protecting liberty and freedom..."

"If free speech is so great for protecting liberty and freedom..."

"If freedom of press is so great for protecting liberty and freedom..."

I do not know whether guns protect "liberty and freedom."

But according to reports in the media, they do sometimes/often/occasionally protect good people from being harmed by bad people.

If, for example, that victim recently in Beverly Hills, California, had used a gun to stop that bad man from smashing in her sliding glass door, she could have shot him and she would be living today instead of lying in the mortuary,

Self-protection is justification enough for the right to have guns.

And if some people at that parade had had guns, they could have stopped that "SUV" from murdering six people (including a baby).

Actually those are the things it is necessary to protect liberty and freedom. Where as a gun in america is nothing more than an excuse to do nothing more than masterbate over murdering politicians.

I read the OP, which said it's a "UN list," which implies that it's a list created by the UN. If it's not maintained by the UN (it's actually not, now that I looked into it), why would you say that it's "the UN list"?

Are you actually suggesting that UN is an unbiased body? The UN will condemn the USA for our 2nd Amendment, but is silent about most acts of genocide in other nations.

But guns are often claimed to be particularly important, many conservatives will claim the 2nd amendment is the only reason we have the rest. (absurd)
