"Federal officers are fanning out across the country, conducting raids, traffic stops, even scooping people up at courthouses when they appear for immigration hearings and carting them away in leg irons and shackles — harsh treatment that you seldom see even when felons are arrested. This heavy-handedness and cruelty isn’t a glitch — it’s intentional, as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Tom Homan, President Trump’s border czar, attempt to frighten immigrants into leaving the country. Even legal residents and American citizens are getting caught up in the crackdown.

And the worst part is, while things like barging into a congressman’s office and detaining his staffers aren’t legal, there is nothing anyone can do about it. If Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents force their way into your house without a warrant, slap you around and detain your family at gunpoint while conducting an illegal search, you have no way of getting your constitutional claims into federal court. As a practical matter, these agents are above the law and cannot be held accountable for violating your constitutional rights.

...in 1971, in a case called Bivens v. Six Unknown Fed. Narcotics Agents, the Supreme Court created what is known as a “Bivens action” as an analogue of section 1983, giving individuals the right to sue in court when their Fourth Amendment rights were violated under color of federal law. Since then, the Supreme Court has been reluctant to extend the reach of Bivens, ultimately holding in 2022 that no one could ever bring a legal claim for excessive force — or any constitutional claim — against a federal officer enforcing immigration laws.

...Unchecked by the courts, ICE’s behavior will only get worse over the next three and a half years. Even the most well-meaning bureaucracies are subject to mission creep, so you can expect Noem’s troops to expand their activities well beyond detaining immigrants. The Homeland Security officers who invaded Nadler’s office were hunting for protesters, and Homan has already threatened state officials and even members of Congress with arrest for “interfering” with ICE."

Trump's Brown Shirts.

This is an easy thing to resolve.
Respect our borders.
Obey our immigration laws.
We a 100% right to control our borders and immigration.

It will be interesting to see if some of them become famous in the future.

The other day they were chasing down protesters in a Congressman's office.

And how does providing due process, allowing them to attend their own hearings as required, listening to asylum claims per law and treaty obligations, and not shooting them in the legs as Trump suggested violate the US’s right to control immigration?

They are skipping out on their asylum hearings.
They are assaulting ICE employees.
They are blocking streets.
That is not how immigration is supposed to work.

So prosecute the offenders, using due process as required by law and Constitution. Or if you prefer, push to amend the Constitution. If we granted due process to Ted Bundy, why not to these people? I quote a friend who said that “human rights are not rewards for good behavior.”

That another left wing lie.
They are getting due process.

I think people are going to be surprised at how disruptive this is to the economy.
Not only to the economy. There is rioting against the immigration sweeps in Los Angeles now. There was a report that there have also been some riots in New York. The American people do not like injustice. Just as the all got angry at injustice towards one man*, they are angry at injustice towards groups of people. Maybe people have finally had enough of a president who stole the powers of all the other branches of government, thereby becoming a dictator.

*Remember the Towm Hall in Iowa where the snow white, elderly, Iowa residents revolted at the deportation of Kilmar Albrego Garcia and shouted down the Republican Senator trying to assuage them?

But it is a good response to an oppressive authoritarian régime. We have to stick together and not let ICE agents break all the laws. We all have to join the immigrants who are protesting the illegal ICE raids.

We afford due process for mass shooters and pedophiles. immigrants? meh, not so much.

What else is not supposed to work is jailing people who are not murderers, drug addicts, rapists and other types of criminals as Trump pledged (lied) to do.

Why the hell is Trump on TV babbling about storms andf forest fires? Has his brown brain forgot what is going on in LA?

So when the Agents ignore the laws, what should we do?

The Democrats are a dying desperate Party and they are attempting to use mass illegal immigration to save themselves.
They are defending illegal alien criminals.
We have the right to control our borders and immigration.

Or so you hope. Because all the power you are trying to give Trump will be there for the next President. And if it is a Democrat I can already hear the hypocritical howls of outrage. When Republicans are fired from Government Jobs the screams of persecution will be deafening.

But your predictable rant didn’t address the question. What if the Agents break the laws? We are a nation of laws right? Should those agents be victims of crowd based justice if that is what the people want? Or should they face penalties in the legal system?

We are a nation with immigration laws.
No one is above the law, right?
