I voted for…

It does - it was simply long enough ago that Biden was still at the top of the ticket.

Here is the map as it stands. The dark colored states are the safe ones, where the candidate who will win is - absent Act Of God or Nuclear War that somehow ends the election - already generally known, because that's the overwhelming preference of the citizens in that state.

This is a particularly poor defense attempt you have chosen, in your attempt to ignore the point that we do not vote for who we think is most likely to win our state, but for who we support politically and are willing to vote for conscientiously. The purpose of voting is to register my will, not try to identify which team is most likely to win so I can scurry over to it.

But, if you like, I am willing to wager a $1,000 donation to DP on the side that Trump will win Mississippi, and an additional $1,000 donation to DP on the side that Trump will win Alabama. I'm also willing to double down with a $1,000 bet on the side that Harris will win California, and a $1,000 bet that Harris will win New York.
This say by 6, not 18.
Isn't that odd.

That was before donald simulated fallacious on his microphone.
I think donalds a closet gay.

And before Walz started doing high kicks on stage.

Both of which will not have any effect on how Alabama votes in this election.

....if you are referring to Mississippi, that's the number of electoral votes that the State has, not the size of the lead he has in polling.

Oh.
I see the +18 now.
But it says Biden.
Do you have one that says Harris?
Or, do they think biden is still the candidate in Mississippi?

So it's between the Chorus girl and the gay prostitute.
God bless America.

They may, but, the point remains that Mississippi is a locked in Trump State, just as California is a locked in Harris State, and neither of trying to pretend that we don't know that is not, actually, a good counterargument to the point that we do not vote for who we think is most likely to win our state, but rather for who we support politically and are willing to vote for conscientiously.

Well, you've failed to post a current poll that supports your contention.
I will concede that Donald, simulated fellatia and all, will more than likely take Mississippi.
I fully admit that Donald, who is a total piece of shit, has a good chance of winning his seat back.
And if that happens, we will all get, what you deserve.

Alright.

So, is it "throwing their votes away" for Democrats in Mississippi to vote for Harris, despite the fact that she's not likely to win their state?

Or should they vote to register their will and their conscience, regardless of whether they are on the "winning team".

Hopefully not - for I deserve hell. But, putting aside your vitriol for people who aren't in your preferred In Group, you may have me confused with a Trump supporter.

Donalds victory in Mississippi, while it may be likely, is not a "given".
So we don't yet know if his vote was thrown away.
Come see me after the election.

My mistake.
Because of donalds fake electors scheme, I see him as a traitor who should be incarcerated for his role in it.
So yeah, i do not want any devious piece of shit like donald back in the seat of power.
It's just that simple.

Exit polls, yes.
Are you planning on throwing away your vote next year as well?

No, Mississippi will have 95% of its results in before midnight. By that time it will be statistically impossible for Harris to win. We’re not incompetent like they are in California, where they might have to wait weeks to get results in some congressional races. At least here in Mississippi we teach our kids how to add. 😉

Nobody.

Because I'm British and not allowed to vote.

We’re not incompetent like they are in California,
California is the 6th largest economy on the planet.
Mississippi, on the other hand, is known for its Rednecks.

Sixth? I thought it was 5th. What happened? 😆

In a state with presumably so much wealth, why are there so many homeless people in Utopia? Some of the priciest real estate in the world is (or was) in California. And yet only there could you walk out of the Carlton or Four Seasons and think you’d just stepped out onto the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Mississippi would have been an upgrade. 🤷‍♂️

Too many people come here and stay.
There are 20,000 people per square mile in the downtown Los Angeles basin.
How many per square mile in Redneck hollow?

You don’t think the open drug markets, tent cities in tourist districts, draconian covid lockdowns, and crime coupled with a lack of enforcement had something to do with it? You know, it is possible to have a city without drug-addled junkies and loons haranguing passersby. 🤷‍♂️ I think left-leaning politicians are finally, although belatedly, figuring out they have a problem—after retailers have left, cafes and restaurants have left, tourists have left, hotel owners have left, residents have left—along with their tax money. 🤷‍♂️

The tent city's and rampant drug use are a symptom, not the cause.
Your just repeating right wing propaganda.
Now, you are free to chow down on every crumb of fox news garbage till you're full.
But, the root cause is too many people, not enough housing nor opportunities that pay enough to stay afloat.

Your just repeating right wing propaganda.

No, letting people take over and camp out on public sidewalks while they deposit spent hypodermic needles on streets for kids to pick up is real and it’s a problem. And it’s “You’re,” as in a contraction of “You are,” not the possessive pronoun “Your.” I learned that in school. 😉

Now, you are free to chow down on every crumb of fox news garbage till you're full.m

You know, when liberals start complaining about homeless encampments, there’s a problem. Even Governor Hairgel says there’s a problem:

“Thousands” of homeless encampments? Not even Fox News can make that up. 😆

But, the root cause is too many people, not enough housing nor opportunities that pay enough to stay afloat.

Well, there is hope, because California’s lost one million residents in ten years. The middle class have largely left already. California is like an apple being hollowed out at the core. The wealthy have grown some, poor people have grown a lot, and the middle class has moved to ABC: Anywhere But California.

I see a genuine, independent third party as a potential spoiler or power broker, especially where the real power lies—in Congress and the state legislatures. Just imagine if a truly independent third party held just five seats in the Senate. That would be five “Joe Manchins”—“real” ones.
Here is the unfortunate truth. There is a third party, it's MAGA, and before that it was the Tea Party. Stretch that back further and the most electorally successful 3rd party candidate in my life was George Wallace.

Imo, a 3rd party based on othering will never be successful in America.

Having a third party in the mix with a significant vote does not require the vote to go to the House. in 1912 Woodrow Wilson won with only 41.8% of the EC vote (435/531). That's not even the lowest amount received. Abraham Lincoln got in with only 39.8% (180/303) in 1860. John Quincy Adams won with only 30.9% (84/261). There were plenty of others that were not decided by the House where the EC votes came in under 50%+1. In reality a candidate needs only 181 votes, assuming that the others are close, in order to win. 136 if there are 4 close running candidates. For that matter, the 270 number assumes that only the two (current) main parties get EC votes. But if a third party candidate can take even 1 state, that number changes. And as I said before, if all the people who actually would want to vote third party actually did, we would probably see a state or two go to them, and that would be enough to make people start reconsidering. The Dems and Reps know it too, which is why they work so hard to shut out the third parties.
2024 is not a laboratory experiment.

2024 is not a laboratory experiment.
Our whole bloody country was a "laboratory experiment". It's the trying times that require the new and untried ideas. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always gotten. The chances are slim to none of change happening this year, and Slim is almost out the door. But that doesn't detract from the point that you quoted. That point was that a third party candidate making a significant impact would not be the cause of the vote going to the House too be settled.

It is a "real" problem.
Please cite the post where I say it wasn't.
The root cause is overpopulation.
You know, when liberals start complaining about homeless encampments, there’s a problem.
Actually, the homeless encampment are a symptom of the problem.
The root cause being overpopulation.

“Thousands” of homeless encampments? Not even Fox News can make that up. 😆
So you admit Fox news makes a lot of shite up.
Kudos.

Well, there is hope, because California’s lost one million residents in ten years.
And we need to lose a lot more.
You know why?
Because the root cause of our problems is overpopulation.
