I refuse to vote for Mitt Romney

Look forward to seeing the 2010 and 2011 deficits as I know you want to be fair. Seems you left out 2005-2007, wonder why?
I didn't post 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010 or 2011 because none of those broke records.

Weren't you paying attention or did you fall asleep in class again?

You claimed it was due to the rich working harder. Can you back up your claim by telling us how the rich quadrupled their income at the same time middle class income tanked, or not?

When the rich outsource jobs and lower wages and benefits to American workers to increase their bottom line, and get lower tax rates for doing so, that hurts the middle class.

I answered your question and you have yet to answer mine. How does someone else's income affect you and your ability to reach a higher income level?

Rich outsourcing jobs? How many jobs have been outsourced in a labor force of 154 million?

So the 4.5 trillion Obama has added to the debt in 3 years isn't a record? Thanks

What do you think should be done about it? What did you learn in school about the foundation upon which this country was built? It is easy to blame those evil corporations until you realize that most of the employment in this country is done by small businesses not those evil corporations.
I think welfare programs should be instituted for the lower class to get them off of their feet and increase the upward mobility that has been decreasing ever since the surge of neoliberalism as a result of globalization. Again, it's about what I learned in school. We are losing what the country was built on. Equality of opportunity.

I don't care about how much of the unemployment is done by large corporations. I was simply using that as an example. What I care about is helping the lower class find jobs, increasing rights for workers, etc..

Just an observation from the OP... this has turned into the thread from hell. And, incidentally, it's supposed to be about Mitt Romney but we have somehow migrated WAY off topic...

:)

BS.

Well over half of that debt was accumulated under Reagan and the two Bush presidents.

When do you stop lying, Con?

We never had debt balloon until Reagan's supply-side economics.

You just cannot get over your hatred for Republicans including Reagan and Bush. You have every right to support the direction Obama is taking this country but one of these days you are going to wake up and wonder what happened. What do you think the debt will be at the end of Obama's first term and God forbid a second term?

And here I thought by putting the year next to each figure, it would be enough of a clue for you to figure out I was showing annual figures. Who knew you needed even more help to figure that out?

How do welfare programs that keep people dependent get people back on their feet and improve upward mobility? You seem to believe that all people on welfare have the same desires and values as you have. What do you think a business is going to say when you show up with a resume showing that you have been collecting unemployment for two years or have been on welfare for two years?

You think that someone who invests their own money, is the last one to get paid owes you or anyone else a job? Where does personal responsibility rest in your world?

Is it really that hard for you to figure out? Businesses compete for the consumer dollar. There is a limited pool of consumers dollars. Presently corporations are raking in record profits but they aren't hiring OR raising worker pay. What they ARE doing, however, is jacking up CEO and management pay.

should have known that asking you a question wouldn't get an answer. in three years the debt has gone up 4.5 trillion dollars. Imagine what it will be at the end of 8 years of liberalism but that doesn't matter to you

Businesses are raking in record profits because their payrolls are low and they are doing with less, something liberals don't understand. You seem to think that private business owes you a job. My has the education system in this country changed.

What does pointing out your lies have to do with what I think about Republicans?

You falsely blamed entitlements and liberalism for the $15.1T debt and it was easy enough for me to point out the ridiculousness of that BS.

We've had entitlements since the 1930's -- no massive debt.

We've had Liberalism even longer -- no massive debt.

Reagan and Bush trickle on us with supply-side economics and now we have massive debt.

YOu can't accept the fact that Conservatism fails so you blame Liberalism. That's your shortcoming, not mine.

Let's see, Reagan added 1.7 trillion to the debt and created 16.8 million jobs. Obama has added 4.5 trillion to the debt and we have a net job loss. That is liberalism and poor leadership

Umm, we have a Conservative House now and the debt has increased $1.2 trillion on their watch. How come you don't blame Conservatism?

Welfare programs don't necessarily keep people dependent. Welfare that sends people through job-seeking programs, and reduces pay at interval times, does not increase dependency. Why do you think a business would deny an employee because he has been on welfare, if he has sufficient skills?

It's a pity that you'll never understand how worthless comparing nominal figures is. You probably don't even realize you undemine your own argument by using them.

Never thought you had a basic civics understanding and obviously pay very little attention to the real news. Republicans did something Democrats didn't do for the past two years, submit a budget. The Ryan Budget was rejected by the Democrat Senate so pass the Republican budget and then you can blame Republicans for the 2011 deficit although doubt it will matter to partisan hacks.

Tell me how to adjust 16.8 million jobs created for inflation?

I have no problem with businesses making profits and doing whatever they want when it is their money, but most of these now very profitable businesses are so because of the bail outs and all of the slimy government actions that are allowing them to float through this recession tax free. How much money was dumped into the banks and now the banks have all these profits and sticking it to us, yet it was us who kept them from going under. That money that they are now raking in should be paid back to the consumer. I put the blame not just on Obama but of congress on both sides as well for this BS. Sadly it appears there is no one on the horizon who will be putting an end to it. I was hoping for some breakthough candidates who would end this, but no such luck. We are stuck with 4 more years regardless of who wins.

Republican and conservative are no longer one in the same.

When I was your age not once did I talk about welfare or expect you or anyone else to pay for my expenses. I further never cared about what someone else made and in fact went to college, got my degree and tried to emulate their successes. It was always my goal to take care of myself and my family. What happened to that attitude and where is it today?

you really believe that everyone on welfare deserves to be on welfare? You believe everyone in the OWS wants a job? you believe that business owes any of these people a job? Businesses will look at the resume in its entirety and depends on the reasons for being on welfare. There are jobs out there, maybe not THE job but it shows initiative and a desire to work. Sitting on ones ass isn't a qualification most businesses will look at.
