I was at National Airport in Washington, DC, getting my luggage and I see Justice Kennedy with two US Marshalls. My husband and I contemplated whether we were going to introduce ourselves to him, but decided against it. However, he then walked over to where we were and stood right next to me. I told him I had to introduce myself to him because I recognized him. He was very sweet and unpretentious and asked me what I did and where I went for Thanksgiving. I know it sounds corny for me to be all excited about this, but being a lawyer, you cannot help but be in awe of those who sit on the Supreme Court. *sigh*

You mean Ronald Reagan Airport?

Sounds like a wonderful experiance... Its especially nice when they are all congenial and not seemingly looking down on other peoples.
I would've never guessed you to be a lawyer...
So you're the inspiration behind all those jokes...:2razz:
Bet you heard 'em all?

Ha ha ha ha Yes, that's the one. I am so used to calling it National, I still do. Interesting that it was Ronald Reagan that appointed him, huh? ;)

I've heard all the jokes. Trust me, I am not the inspiration. I am soooooooo not like the typical lawyer. When I graduated law school, I said I would not marry a fellow lawyer because I didn't like the type of men who attended law school with me. Ummm, well I ended up marrying one and, like me, he doesn't fit the typical lawyer mold.

That's really cool !! And he sounds personable..I wonder if I would recognize him :2razz:

Too cool.

I didn't take any! :( I had my camera with me, but I was worried about offending him or causing problems with the US Marshalls (what would they do if I reached in my bag???).

:(, well I had to ask. lol

Grats again on meeting him.

Big deal, I work out with Jesse Jackson, you know you want to be me, lol!

Seriously though, I would love to chat with any one of those justices, that would be a thrill, but I do work out with Oprah and Jesse Jackson to name a few, I'm just not that impressed.;)

Kennedy is a very private person - that is what makes it too cool. Plus he has more power in his little finger than most politicians.

Jackson - waste of space. Sorry you have to look on him when you work out. lol

I saw Willis (Different Strokes) in a Wendy's once.

Oh, I agree, to meet any one of them would be great, but only if I could rack their brain, but that doesn't happen that often, if at all for most Americans. I actually think these folks should be more approachable, they do make very important decisions for the country, I would venture to say, more powerful then the president, over all!

Thanks though, yeah, it sucks that Jackson works out there, my opinion of the club just dropped dramatically, lol!
