I've been pondering this, why would so many liberals so easily allow themselves to believe the stupid Obama camp line that McCain and Palin are inciting hate and fear with their criticism of him. I've been pondering this since a GOOD friend of mine whose generally a reasonable individual on politics asked me how I can support someone so hateful.
It dawned on me. This election, the rise of Obama, the way he was able to shoot down Hillary, how the media is able to manipulate the unwashed liberal masses...
It's liberal white guilt.
You have two white conservatives questioning Obama's past, a few "shouts" from crowd, one dumb lady calling Obama an arab and viola, claim they are inciting hate, and let the inbred notion that all whites hate blacks that's a sore on the bleeding hearts of all progressive minded lefties and you can get them to believe anything.
Gotta admit, it's so simple that if you are, like me and most conservatives I know, beyond race games and instead focused on who someone is, not what they are.
I suppose, that's why conservatives like me have a hard time "seeing" this "hate" that the left is braying about with McCain and Palin, we're in the 21st Century where race doesn't matter, the other side is still stuck in 1960.
