Huntsman 2016?
Yes, it's very preliminary, and a lot can happen between now and then, but if you had to venture a guess, what do you think of Jon Huntsman's chances for gaining the Republican nomination for President in 2016? Do you think he made enough of a name for himself to be honestly considered by enough people next time?
I think he'll have a better showing, and will be big enough to be taken seriously in debates and such, but I don't see him winning it.Extremely small chance of winning, but I'd support him 100% if he ran.
Heh. Unfortunately, this is probably the basic truth. He's too rational to get the job.
Zero chance. The Republican party today is too full of wacko right-wingers....never going to happen. The only shot a moderate like Huntsman would ever have is if the teabaggers revolt and leave the party to form their own. Other than that...ain't ever going to happen.

The day Huntsman wins the Republican Primary is the day pigs sprout metallic wings, take to the skies and arm themselves with plasma cannons.
IMO, the whole plan for Obama picking him to be China's ambassador to get rid of him was overblown. The GOP has moved too far to the right for Huntsman to have had a chance. If Huntsman was running in 2000, that would have been different, even 2008. But 2012? Political landscape has changed too much for someone like him to have a place in the GOP.
I would have loved to see him as the candidate in 2012. I would have loved to see the Obama camp try to discredit Huntsman.
"But, ummm, Mr Obama... didn't you pick him to represent you in China? How can he be so bad if you picked him yourself for such an important post?"
I agree with your assessment of what doomed him 100%.That's why the Obama camp was afraid. So they put him in their own camp so the GOP would tear him apart if he ran. However, that's not what doomed Huntsman. Huntsman was simply too moderate, too rational and too stiff to have any chance.

Sadly Huntsman has no chance.........I think there is only one person out there who can beat Hillary and that is Dr Ben Carson.

we need someone who isn't going to compromise with the whacko anti american left wing nut cases who want to get a GOP moderate in power to compromise and to allow the creeping crud of socialism to advance
I hope and pray that the GOP continues to follow your line of reasoning....in all honesty.

It looks like that is what is happening. Cruz seemed to be throwing his clown hat in the ring the other day.:lamo
Hillary might as well start figuring out what rules to pin on the first "gentleman".
