Hunter Biden laptop bombshell: Twitter invented reason to censor Post’s reporting

Considering the director of the FBI was appointed by Trump, one would think so; especially since one for the former president's claims is that he hires the "best people".
lol. so you are NOT "considering" the corrupt FBI's role in the Russian Hoax as evidence of top echelon hostility to Trump?
How have you quantified "vast majority"?
I believe i heard about 96% of campaign donations went to Dems from Twitter
I'd have to look but Taibbi also said "vast majotiy" of suppression was at the behest of the BIden campaign, not Trump

There is no such thing as the Democrat Party. But people who persist in that usage are displaying their reactionary right wing tenadancies.
It’s just a childish way of trying to annoy the other side by not allowing it to name itself. I suppose dems should return to the third grade as well and start referring to the GOP as the Republic Party.

If nothing else, Anatta, this is proof positive they are just arms of the Democrat party and the Republicans in power have to keep hammering this home and maybe introduce a bill saying that they need to register as enemies of Republicans.
well i think that media bias was obvious, what is new is the level of FBI involvement increasingly leading up to the election
to FB, and Twitter blocking the story with bogus charges it was "hacked"
If you mean our information sources are utterly corrupt -well ya

Like Musk, he's gone over the edge. They both have an almost child-like view of the power of disinformation and hate speech.
If censorship (which is a form of disinformation) had no power to influence, political parties wouldn't indulge in it and get their people into positions to implement it on social media.

lol. so you are NOT "considering" the corrupt FBI's role in the Russian Hoax as evidence of top echelon hostility to Trump?
Hostility? Trump hired the FBI director, and as a whole the FBI is a conservative leaning organization, so what do you think brought about that hostility you're claiming?

I believe i heard about 96% of campaign donations went to Dems from Twitter
Which is a problem why, exactly? If Sinclair Broadcast Group donates to GOP candidates, should those outside of that political sphere not watch their stations because they will lean right? There's no obligation for any company to be neutral; neutrality is something that serves companies well in that they don't bifurcate their customers, but for some companies that's a feature not a bug.

I'd have to look but Taibbi also said "vast majotiy" of suppression was at the behest of the BIden campaign, not Trump
Which again isn't a problem in that anyone can make the request to have content removed. The big issue originally brought up was Twitter used as a censor by the government, and if that was my concern I'd be more interested in what the actual government at the time was asking to have removed. We know what the Biden campaign was requesting to have removed, but what hasn't been revealed is what the Trump administration (the actual government at the time) was looking to censor.

Oh, it is completely true that Congress controls the purse.
It is doubtful though they will move to defend that authority against encroachment of it by the Executive.
They will let it run the courts, as it probably should be.
less divisive that way.
That's how it has always worked. Enacting a law that is later found unconstitutional is not an impeachable offense. It's not an offense at all.

And while the authorities and Tucker Carlson have had access for two years...nothing...?
It's interesting that you interpreted his comment literally. I interpreted it as meaning that was "nothing" the right wing could use and nothing has come of it.

Supporting links, please? You're posting RWE BS... even Murdoch media @NY Post couldn't stomach the stench of Bannon's timing and lobbying
until "the go sign" came from Australia.

Subject: Why is it so difficult to be a whistle blower when you are on the right?

For almost a year, I have been trying to get the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop to the proper authorities. I first reached out to the FBI and they came and collected it but I have reason to believe they have destroyed it or buried it in a filing cabinet … Luckily for my protection I made several copies and I have been trying quietly to bring it to people’s attention.

Blaming twitter management, the FBI, or the Biden campaign for the universal editorial decision of MSM not to stink up the election
with such crap that still lacks provenance today is an indication of thorough RWE indoctrination.

There was no hoax.

Using the lack of interest by one’s regular news sources as evidence that a story doesn’t matter is a bridge too far for me. I won’t scede that kind of power to any news organization.

Any social media platform that even entertains a request for removal by any political campaign is too much involvement by a social media platform. Let the source of the story put their reputation on the line, don’t give them that kind of shield by muffling them.

“I believe I heard”……..

That has been standard policy at Fox ever since it went on the air.

And the only way you don’t “cede” that kind of power to any news organization is by not putting your faith in just one, or only the ones who reflect your world view.

"..Taibbi’s own apologies for Russia didn’t just start with the Russian imperialism and war crimes, however.

He was long a critic of what he called “RussiaGate” based on the tried and true tactic of treating the Steele dossier and Alfa Bank allegations — and not the legal verdicts that confirmed Trump’s National Security Advisor, campaign manager, Coffee Boy, personal lawyer, and rat-****er (Roger Stone) all lied to hide the true nature of their Russian ties — as the primary substance of the case. Taibbi scolded others about shoddy reporting even while he adhered to the Single Server fallacy that not only assumed all the hacked material came from just one server, but ignored the hack of Amazon Web Services content and abundant other evidence attributing the hacks to Russia from other cloud companies. Then there was the time Taibbi tried to smack down on claims that Maria Butina used sex to entice targets, in which he made error after error, all without allowing his false claims to be disrupted by consulting the actual primary sources.

That’s the guy Elmo decided would be a credible voice to tell us what happened with the “Hunter Biden” “laptop” story.

That matters because, as Andy Stepanian explained last night, Twitter had advance warning of a Russian information operation targeting Hunter Biden during the summer of 2020, months before the release of the “Hunter Biden” “laptop.”

Matt Taibbi is either woefully misinformed about this or cynically lying. How do I know? Because I attended two meetings with Twitter representatives in July and August 2020 wherein the Hunter Biden story was discussed within the larger framework of election integrity.
Matt Taibbi’s analysis has myriad problems but the biggest problem is his failure to underscore what initially prompted twitter staff to designate the content in the Post story as “stolen” or “hacked” material. This came from conversations with law enforcement in summer of 2020.
During the election integrity meetings I was present for little was known about how the material would eventually be published. I recall one spokesperson suggesting the Hunter Biden content may publish via “something like wordpress” or “wikileaks-styled” website.
This is the contact with FBI that Twitter and Facebook had about Hunter Biden in 2020, not any immediate response to the Post story. It’s almost certainly what Mark Zuckerberg was referring to in a Joe Rogan interview that has been misrepresented in the aftermath.

Taibbi, the self-described reverse chauvinist, describes any Hunter Biden-specific warnings as general — mentioning neither Hunter Biden nor Russia — and omits the timing."

you need to separate the upper echelon from the rank and file agents

The FBI used FB as a censor, not Twitter.
Twitter engaged in suppression of the laptop as "hacker" when it wasn't and internal deligeraton show they knew that was thin ice
However Twitter also went to extreme lengths to stop the story from being on their platform as well such as banning link to the NY Post article by Private messaging

New depths of treachery.
The Biden campaign directly telling twitter to kill the story. Biden campaign telling twitter who to block.
What will the left do?
I'm sure CNN will take at least three days to spin and finally mention this st

Every time I hear or see Hunter Biden's name I start falling asleep.

I think it may be the result of so many "bombshells' over the last 7 or eight years of "bombshells" that turned out to be farts not even firecrackers.

If there was something there it would have surfaced by now, UNLESS a huge majority of the population are hard core liberals, which simply isn't possible because of the prevalence of conservative senators, governors, mayors, house members and police chiefs. (which, if you think about it kind of makes a joke of Trump's bleating and bawling)

So, either the claims are hot air wrapped in chicken shit and topped with a a load of hysterics and histrionics, or the conspiracy is so deep, so ingrained that any form of truth can never come out of the steam, in which case there would have to be a party-based militia who would assassinate anyone who blew their cover.

Convince someone on that and we'll talk

you need to separate the upper echelon from the rank and file agents
Well let's start with the upper echelon, which directs what the FBI investigates. Ultimately it rests on the director to take action against agents who may act in a partisan manner, and that's something that needs to be weeded out. You initially did not separate the FBI between upper echelon and the rank and file, but regardless, the buck stops with the director.

It used both, based on what we know. What would be great is knowing what the requests of content take-downs the former administration requested of Twitter, since that could fall under what you're classifying as "censoring". Of course, what this all tap dances around is that no social media company is required to be neutral; that is clearly covered in the 1st amendment. The very same argument you're making would force right-leaning media to be neutral; it's a daft proposition.

Twitter didn’t “censor” the Post. The Post released their story.
A campaign calling the shots for the media.
Wow this is what you have? You revive a debunked false story? That's your shtick? That makes what is happening to Donny go away? Really?

Man you cultees are hilarious. What a half assed attempt at deflecting from Trump legal issues. Lol.

Repeat shit long enough hoping it will stick....uh no.

who is Donnie? Donnie Osmond? I did
Below are all the news outlets who have rightly chosen to not cover this total non significant story.

How many Hunter Biden threads have we had lately? I lost count. It has replaced Hillary Clinton threads. Amazing no one wants to talk about policy or the direction of the country or about all the election deniers, etc.
But bring up Hunter Biden, and everyone gets an erection. I don't get it.

I always get an erection when Stalinists spit on the Constitution and try to stifle free speech.

Republicons

Man o man you are in one severe word whirlwind state of denial to protect something that doesn't deserve your protection.
And all you are doing is posting lies because you know the truth doesn't support you. That's why you're long on rhetoric and incredibly short on facts.

It's okay you were fooled. Most Republicans get fooled. But there's still time to escape, I promise. I'll even help you. Answer these two questions and you can start your recovery:

So are you really not going to acknowledge there was no evidence of government collusion with Twitter? Are you really not going to acknowledge the Trump campaign did the same thing the Biden campaign did?
the FBI influenced FB with false warnings of "Russian data dump" in order to suppress the story
They weren't "false warnings". Also, the FBI is headed up by Trump's pick, as was the DOJ. This laptop story came from Trump's attorney Giuliani.

So what you're saying is the Trump campaign gave Trump's FBI a warning about Russian propaganda and they did that to stop Trump from winning? Do you ever stop to think how stupid the things you post are?
Twitter was blocking file sharing by private message as well as being greatly influenced by the Biden campaign and to a lessor extent the Trump campaign to pull down links
LOL

Your bias is showing. What you REALLY should be saying is both Biden and Trump had the same ability to request link pulldowns and Twitter is a private platform that can do what they want.
. . Combined FB and Twitter suppressed.
It's so adorable how upset Republicans are that they couldn't manipulate people with misinformation.
So you have a combination of governmet influence
Who was the government? Trump or Biden?
and suppression normally only used for egregious files to complete suppres the story across platforms
That's the story
No, the story is the Trump campaign was trying to run a psych op against the American people and Republicans are now mad that there were influential media entities that didn't carry their water for them. THAT'S the story.

But it does suggest you're a devotee of limited news sources.
He says as he links to an op-ed by oft discredited opinion writer.

By the way...you agree the Trump White House (Taibbi's words, not mine) had the same link to Twitter, right? That the Trump White House also told Twitter what to censor? While Trump was President?
